Hey all,
New to P38 and although I have a plethora of issues to iron out I haven't seen this one anywhere.
When I select reverse in my 95 HSE 4.6 both mirrors turn down, when I select drive the drivers mirror goes to back to normal, but the passenger side stays down and has to be manually turned up again (by the switch not forced).
Any ideas on what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated as I have to take it for a RWC next week and this will be an issue.
Cheers
Nicho

In the short term, turn the feature off.
A message will appear on the Message Centre saying Mirror Dip Off
To disable the dip function:
Turn the starter switch to position ’I’ or ’II’ (do
not start the engine) and select reverse gear.
Press and hold the seat MEMORY STORE
switch for 2 seconds and the message centre
displays ’MIRROR DIP OFF’ and a tone
sounds.
To restore the dip function:
Turn the starter switch to position ’I’ or ’II’ (do
not start the engine), and select reverse gear.
Press and hold the MEMORY STORE switch
for 2 seconds and the message centre briefly
displays the message ’MIRROR DIP ON’
(returning mirrors to, either the factory or
your own pre-set positions).
To oversome the initial problem, you might need to just go through the mirror dip setting again. I don't know.

I have to say that your roadworthy guy must be a hard marker.

Amazing thanks mate, now onto the ever so painful Air Suspension hack bypass job that's been done to it.

I have a similar problem. It seems that it is almost always caused by a faulty/dirty potmeter reading the position of the mirror. Not sure if it is user serviceable. Just keep the auto dip off :)
