V8SC Autobiography Versus SDV8 HSE

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and to RR. I have a friend who owns RR's and I love the power and comfort, but his car is constantly costing him big bucks to fix.

However, I really set my mind on one and I am torn between the; 2014 V8SC Autobiography (petrol) and the; 2015 SDV8 HSE Diesel. I have been contemplating which one would perform better towing and doing long range travelling, and of course which one is more reliable and likely to have less problems.

So here are the questions:
I heard from several RR owners and mechanics that a large majority of them have serious common issues, especially after 100000 KM.
Some of the major concerns I heard that many have a variety of
Electrical issues
Turbo issues
Timing chain snapping and breaking the Cam Shaft ETC
Air suspension problems
Control Arms problems

I am really looking for none biased answers and would much appreciate some recommendation and insight helping me making the move in getting into one of those RR's with peace of mind.

towing and traveling there really is no choice but the SDV8.. nothing comes close to diesel torque off idle for relaxed towing..

as for the rest, they are ten year old cars, I'd expect some maintenance issues...
oh and a LOT more SDV8's sold than SC's

Have a D3 V8 petrol Tows OK but needs the revs keeping up on hills to tow the boat. Revs = consumption.
I bought an SDV8 but haven't towed yet, The expectation is that 740 NM Torque will simplify the tow process and reduce the Klm / Lit consumption significantly.

Allow a few revs with the SDV8 when pulling a load up long hills as IMO the engine has too much low-down torque for its own good so can get very hot. When spinning freely at around 2K it still doesn't use a lot of fuel and has a much better chance of not getting too hot.
