Disconnecting electricals on heated seat L663

I am wanting to remove the 2nd row seat base on my L663 110. I am folding the 2nd row to have a flat floor for storage when travelling. I would like to gain the space taken by the seat bases when they are folded forward.

The bases removing easily but there is an electrical connection for the heated seat function. I figure that disconnecting the wiring will raise errors messages.[bighmmm] Is there a way to deal with the connection to prevent errors?

Yeah - Unplug it whilst off. Then see what happens.

[smilebigeye]Thanks Tombie, unplug and see what happens is what I would normally do. But my last car was 14 years old and didn't have the sophisticated electronics of the new Defender. I suppose I am being cautious and decided to put out a question BEFORE I tried the 'do it and see what happens'.

I know very little about vehicle electrics. I am wondering if there is a simple way of closing off a circuit (if that's the way of describing the situation) once disconnected, and the car then 'not noticing' the disconnection.

Worst you’ll get is an error message it’s not exactly mission critical functionality. You could probably mess with the CCF and tell the car it’s not fitted.
