Hello all I’ve got a 2007 puma 90 chassis and want to put a 1995 110 single cab on it would the mounts be that same as technically just missing the back half of the cab of would the require serious modifications cheers.

the arm chair way to answer the question is to compare the D90 chassis and the D110 chassis schematics (copy attached). I doubt that there is major modification required. So long as the rear cabin lower section is supported off the chassis, everything in front of the B pillar is the same between D90, D110 and D130. AFAIK the D90 uses bolt on outriggers to support the rear of cabin. If they don't line up to the 110, i assume it would be a case of moving them fore or aft to line up with the 110 cabin.

tray back D90 would be pretty cool. Go all Gigglepin esk fit out.

I would imagine the stumbling block would be transferring all the later cars mandated safety stuff to the earlier cab. The 2007 rules would apply. Work that out and it should go, also bearing in mind what MLD said.

If it is comparable, when I fitted a 109 ute cab to an 88 chassis, the rear bulkhead had to be modified as the chassis stepped up earlier than on the 109, and so the rear bulkhead had to accomodate that. I had to trim the bottom off it and then remount it. Without looking, I would assume the same or similar might be the case with a 110 ute cab onto a 90 chassis.

You can see here how the chassis steps up.

I'm not sure why you've started a second thread on this, the place works better if you keep it all in one place.

As Tins pointed out, and I said in you other thread, you need to start by having a discussion with an approved engineer.

The vehicle identity is the chassis/VIN number.

In your other thread you said you wanted to build a truck cab, your 110 won't have the right panels to do this.

All the best with it.

wouldn't you just steal the lower bulkhead seen in Simon's post, rear window and roof from the 110. everything from the seatbox forward could remain Puma. Lets be honest, there is not much in passenger or pedestrian safety improvements between the 300 tdi to Puma. i have a 200tdi, 300tdi and Puma and there is minimal safety improvements between them (if any).

Changing from wagon to ute will require engineering sign off to change it's body type in the transport register. Shouldn't be too onerous if you used all LR body parts and use all the factory mounting points.

If Tony C is right that the OP's intention is to build a truck cab (style side), then the 110 single cab panel will not work without cutting up the single cab lower bulkhead and fabrication of a 1 piece bulkhead and style side truck bed.

I agree, I don't imagine the whole thing would be difficult, but questions need to be asked before the mods are done. I see the OP is in SA. Here in Vic the car needs to be engineered if you remove seats. Even a Disco that came plated as a seven seater requires engineering if you remove the third row, which is ridiculous as they came as both. I'd be asking.

Changing body style is a national compliance thing. The car was imported and approved under the national scheme as a wagon. While the States manage the transport register, they are doing so, in part, on behalf of the Commonwealth. In an indirect way, the engineering approval and change of body style on the register is changing the import compliance status. In SA there is no annual roadworthy. So it would be pretty easy to change body style and drive around without having to answer to the local roadworthy mechanic. Being caught would be an unfortunate enquiry by the Police or transport authority, most likey as a result of being silly. It's really a matter for the OP to seek engineering guidance/approval. If it was structural, i'd agree that engineering guidance would be valuable, but for a body style change like that contemplated, who am i to preach to the OP that he must do or not do such and such. I'd be a hypocrite if i did. that's my anti-high-horse rant over. carry on chaps.

That's what I'm doing with my five seven seater. And I didn't think I was preaching, just suggesting. I'd put an M57 and ZF8HP in mine if nobody was looking.... and if I could afford it. Got no intention of selling it so who'd know? Well, my insurer, for a start. So don't hit anyone.
