Hello Friends of the muddy oval!

I need some help with shipping!
Would anyone here be willing to send something from Australia to Germany for me?

I would like to buy a Redarc battery booster, but the European importers don't have the one I'd like in stock and can't give me a delivery date.

I have already written to several dealers in Australia asking if they would send me the device directly but have not received any response.

The idea would be for me to order the device from an Australian dealer, have it sent to a member, and then they would send it to me.

Of course, I'll cover all costs! Absolutely!

Had a Chat with DHL. Was not very helpful. The package is seized by Customs.
Actually they can´t tell me why. [bigsad]

Two possibilties, she told me: Customs miss a innvoice, then i should get a letter in the next days, where i can explain whats the worth of the item.
Second: they miss some informations from the sender... this can mean two things: Ian, you will get a letter and have to explain whats in the package or
they send it back... [bawl]

I shall call DHL again at end of the week, there is a deadline, where DHL should get more informations from Customs and then there could be a chance to
become active...

I wonder if it has anything to do with the two kilos of cocaine in it. [wink11][bigrolf]
The Post Office were concerned about batteries/dangerous goods until I explained it was a battery charger, not a battery; that shouldn't be a concern once in Germany. Will there be any import duties on it? Or VAT/GST? You have paid GST (10%) in Australia.
No bother, I only concerned that you recieved it.
P.S. I declared it as a gift, so no duties should be due.

Had a Chat with a DHL-Hotline-Lady again. It seems the problem is the missing custom-declaration. Customs never (!) accept a declaration as Gift... :angry:
I tried to contact Customs in Frankfurt direct but no chance. They don´t give out any information for me.
Only the sender can submit a request for investigation.
I'm afraid the package will simply be returned...

Is the invoice in the package? I didn't open it, just dropped it in a new bag and readdressed it. The declaration was filled out by the Post Office lady, asking me questions. Gift, non-dangerous goods, about $500.

Okay, another call to DHL and customs in Frankfurt: only the sender is authorized to submit an investigation.
The form (?) for this is called a Research Assignment, and customs gave me that.

May I ask very carefully if you could please do this at your local post office?

Either the package is sitting in some corner at customs or it's already on its way back to Australia.

yeah been tracking with parcels app, states received by postal carrier for delivery, Frankfurt

I use dhl a few times a year, sometimes they just sit, calling the customer line is like any other mob, person on end of phone just spins a story based on what they see on the tracking screen. In my experience customs will contact you if there is an issue with tariffs/duties as they want your money, they don't get revenue if they send it back.

I get the impression that you have to call three times: the first two times, you get someone on the phone who speaks poor German and can only read what you already know. The third time, you get someone who can see more information. And strangely enough, after the third time, the package actually moves. Maybe there's a mechanism there after all?

But we'll see which direction the package goes now.

The package should be delivered today. It was at my door yesterday but i was at work. And for the reason that there is Tax to pay, they couldn´t just store it at my door as usual.
Today i´m at home and can pay it!

Yeees! Finally it arrived!!! 🤩
Our Postlady handed it me after I paid about 60,-€, about 110,- AUD.
Package wasn’t opened, they took the amount you wrote on the custom declaration and added our 19% Tax and some Fees from DHL.
And yes, it is it worth. Here in Europe is no other item which offers the same functions and durability as the Redarc. 😎
And now I know, after a nice chat with the official Europe-Redarc-Importeur that this item has no permission due to some EU-Rules. But what exactly? 🧐

I am really happy that I got one and looking forward to install it!!!
