Apparently it just went clunk clunk and stopped ..
Dealers say main bearing buggered, metal throughout the engine oil system and that'll be $45,000 to repair ......
Any great ideas appreciated

There are second hand engines available though apart from LR the trick is to find a company willing to do the work..
I did a full reco ( SDV8) with new turbo's and the cost was around that... mine was caused by a blocked rad...
yours, most probably, by bad engineering...

Apart from a new crate engine from Land Rover the only other real option is a rebuild from a company called Automotive Skills based in Sydney and Melbourne.

So after sitting for just over a year, today is the day.
She's off to MR Automotive in Redcliffe. Replacement Used Engine Gearbox service etc.
Best I go back to work to pay for my investment.
