Hi All,
2012 D4
I've just tried to remove the second row, centre head rest, its come out as far as the high position, and is now stuck.
It's stuck in the non locking side, see photo.
I can't see any trim that might come off to get into the seat.
Any ideas?

Knock it down fully, then yank it up.

So, all 3 of the second row headrests have a second lock/latch on the left hand post, this dosnt have a button on it, but you can press it in with a screwdriver or the like.
This looks like it's meant to stop the headrests being removed, and it does on the centre one but not the outer ones.
The manual says to remove the headrests press the latch on the right hand post and remove.
I've given the posts a clean and a bit of silicone spray and they're all good.

Who would’ve thought the manual had such info???

Though what? That the manual has incorrect info on the headrests?
Or my assumption the info in the manual would be correct 🤔

My bad…I misread your post; my manual doesn’t say which side…just press the locking collar
I also remember messing around for 10 mins trying to get my headrests out years ago…I suppose once you know the trick, it’s easy!

Thanks Tony that's fantastic info, just tried it on mine and I didn't even need a screw driver as my nails are overdue for a trim. Years ago I tried removing the centre one to no avail, as I was thinking of getting a RRS one as they curl over the seat back so provide better rearward vision. I used to like the one in my D2 as I could reach back from the driver's seat and raise or lower it using the centre arm rest it was attached to for rearward vision by day and headlight blocking by night.

Tony thanks for sharing. I just tried it on my 2010MY D4. It seems BOTH latches need to be depressed while lifting to remove. Almost a job for 3 hands!

Nah, use one hand to put upward pressure on the head rest. Unlatch one side and gently rock the rest to prevent it re-latching, then unlatch the other side and it'll pull right out.
