I need to replace the headlight covers on my car. I have the new covers but before I warm up the headlight housings to remove the old ones I want to acquire an appropriate glue/sealant to put the new ones on.
I suppose I could just use plain old translucent silastic, but I am after suggestions for alternatives noting the in some time in the future these new covers may need replacing.
Thanks
Garry

A quick check on the internet recommends Loctite 595 or Butyl rubber tape.

Thanks for those recommendations, the Loctitie 595 looks to be what is needed.

Give Loctite a call on their Customer Service line. They will tell you which is the exact product to use.

I'm in the same boat, but yet to order the replacement headlight lenses for my 2013 D4.
Any recommendations or tips on which offerings to go with?
Will any Ali Express one do, or some are higher quality than others?

^^ I didn’t see anything about adhesive.

I watched one vid which suggested they used windscreen sealant - but that's difficult to remove again.
This guy suggested using butyl which was apparently used on older models - just in case you need to replace the lenses again.

Im wondering whether polish and cover with PPF might be worth a try.

Sorry I'm reading this on my phone without glasses and thought you needed lenses. As others have said butyl or silicone the only dedicated product I can see is Google Search (https://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&client=ms-android-samsung-rvo1&source=android-browser&q=headlight+lens+glue#oshopproduct=gid:14502441587 485869798,mid:576462808528113246,oid:3642527774466 720595,iid:3677181303619250647,rds:UENfMTQ1MDI0NDE 1ODc0ODU4Njk3OTh8UFJPRF9QQ18xNDUwMjQ0MTU4NzQ4NTg2O Tc5OA%3D%3D,pvt:hg,pvo:3&oshop=apv&pvs=0)

I've seen this done and it does look great. Bonus points for an effectively replaceable stone guard. Long term I'm very interested to see how it pans out becuase if it works the way I think it should you should be able to just peel the degrading film off and re-cover. a doddle on LR lights that just clip out for servicing.
I chickened out and found a guy who had all the gear, gives a 3 year warranty and did if for less than it was going to cost me for the 2 pack, gunwash and respirator cartridges.

My eyes don't seem to be as good as I thought, despite a friend at lunch the other day, asking how I could read the menu without glasses.
