I put a decat pipe on my vehicle last year and bodged up an attachment for the bottom edge of the turbo heat shield, it has not lasted well and I want to do something less dodgy and more permanent. Before I reinvent the wheel, wondering what others have done with this that has been successful?
ps talking 2.4 here, 2.2 is quite different apparently.

i'm de-catted 2.4. the exhaust place welded a bracket onto the down pipe that is located for the hole in the heat shield. they welded a nut on the tab for my sanity.

Thought I'd update this thread with some photos of the solution I made as it might help others.
I was unable to weld something onto the pipe as I don't have TIG and I had already wrapped the pipe. To be honest, i think this is better than a bracket welded on as the pipe is able to be properly wrapped.

I would have preferred to do this in stainless but I wasn't able to get hold of suitable material at short notice (we were just about to head off on a trip) so I used some gal from bunnings- 30x3 if memory serves, bent over a gas cylinder to match the curve of the cat. Could have tapped the M5 holes but I chose to use rivnuts.
I was expecting it to work loose and need a few adjustments until it had bedded in but it didn't require this. Completed the trip, 10,000 brutal kilometres, and this did the job perfectly.
