For those who may be interested, looks like Duck Creek 4x4 track is going to be on the Great South East, on channel 7 ( Prime ) 5-30 this afternoon.

Cheers

Not really, it's a freelander 4WD trip IMO.

Good for begeinners or the 'chardy' set :D :D :D

I would be happy to run a night trip up there. Its a fun drive with no hassles and there is a little 300Mtr Challenge track.

I was supposed to be doing just that.

I have already run 3 recces and still haven’t got it organised so feel free to have a go.

Must admit, harry and I and the wife and inc and weeds and vladtapes and steinzy and, is there anyone I have left out, have all had fun on the different recces.

It’s something that should be done but I was not planning to try again till early next year, so give it a go Craig and it could be a full on trip or just another recce, it's still a good run.

Cheers

PS. Craig, have a chat with harry, he has some good notes on the track.

Well that should be three of us then Tim. (Harry , Drivesafe , Loadeddisco).
We can set a date in the coming weeks. I feel we need to do some of these local scenic and fun (Easy - Medium) outings or we limit the possible potential of available Land Rover Owners who would want to come on a club run and join, but not necessarily (Hard - G4) tracks.
I think we need to find a balance and I'm wiling to give a hand and run some fun day outings like Condomine Gorge and Duck Creek road , City View 4x4 Park and there are surely plenty of other club members who know other great local spots to visit near the coast for some fun 4x4 day outings.

And I don't drink 'chardy' straight Beer and Bourbon for me.

Hi Craig, the original idea was for an afternoon drive to O’Reilly’s then down Duck Creek track and on to a picnic area we have found and used on a number of the recces near Hillview. It’s a top spot, perfect for a small or big crowd.

We were going to give some demos ( snatching, GPS use etc. ) while everybody cooked dinner and then once dark, we were going to do a night run back up Duck Creek track and see what wildlife was about and so far there has been quite a bit about ( more on the road from O’Reilly’s to Canungra ).

The idea of just doing a night run to Duck Creek for one of the monthly meetings has also been floated.

And there is always a need for ANOTHER recce.

This is the perfect trip to encourage potential new comers to both 4x4ing and the club, to come along and see what it’s like without pounding their 4bys.

Cheers.

Yeah, Duck Creek Rd was the first place I ever took my Disco when I got it.

I agree it's a nice drive for those that haven't done much offroading, but are thinking about joining the club, or just a nice scenic drive for the rest of us.

I'm happy not to pound my truck every weekend.......for me 4WDing isn't just about the hard stuff.....it's also about getting out and seeing the scenery. My wife prefers the latter :)

Yep your right, I have done the trip twice now and usually leave around 0800Am and don't get back to the coast till around 3 - 4 pm in the afternoon. There is a lot of bitumen driving to get to a small amount of dirt tracks but it is a relaxing fun trip with plenty to look at if your in to nature and looking at scenery.

There are two other trips I have yet to get done from the Dirty Weekends book and that is (Granite Country and Sundown National Park) both easy to medium and would be a full weekend trip driving out Friday afternoon arriving back to the Coast late Sunday.
Trips are already set out in the book and some additional maps would be bought for extra tracks in the area to be covered for those who might want a little challenge along the way.

Granite Country is actually near Rover 4x4 Park and we would probably stay there for this trip.
