Seems he is doing the right thing making and testing the biodiesel, unlike others who think that pouring fat out of the fryer into the fuel tank is biodiesel when that is unfiltered Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO).

Forum member Bearman has been using biodiesel he makes for years. He walked me through his process last December when I was visiting and should be burning some of it on a trip about now. If you have the space, the source, and the time it seems a wonderful use for the stuff.

I've clocked up around 40,000 kilometres in my Ford Courier on biodiesel with zero issues and about 20,000 in 4BD1 engine in various vehicles. I've got plenty of storage space for oil and collect from a few local places. Process is not very time consuming as much of the mixing etc can be set going then I wander off to do other things.
I've helped out a couple of people with fuel as they have passed through and they have returned the favour when I've travelled near them. Was nice to pick up a few hundred litres in WA and not buy fuel for a fair bit of the return journey to Vic.
