Myself and SWMBO recently had a trip to Gympie. We went for a ride in this.

194009

194010

We travelled first class

194011

It will be interesting to se how long it takes Tim from Traxide to see this.
I have started my stop watch

I have no idea how the 4th pic at the bottom got there and I can't delete it. When I go to "save changes" it is not there

Wonder what they give you in steerage.

Both times I traveled on this it got stuck on a uphill grade due to rain, with that and the tight bends I always thought the 040 an odd choice... great trip though..

What 0-4-0 Pedro? Usually the Rattler is hauled by a C17, which is 4-8-0.

Mary's not dead, its the "Mary Valley Rattler". Maryvale is a little town just off the Cunningham Highway on the way to Warwick.

Which seems to be a town of retirees as it has a lot of smallish houses with caravan and camper vans parked next to them.

I reckon Dave would know where Maryvale is, he's been through it often enough.

Although technically I think it should be written "valē" so people know how to pronounce it, I believe in the original Latin the ''v'' would've ben said as a ''w'' but is said as a ''v'' in modern church Latin. Where are Ron or Saitch when you need them?

You are correct that I have been through it heaps of times, but until now never knew. I just googled it.

Virtually at the top of Cunningham's Gap.
