About to pull the pin and buy a pair. My wife would like to sit in them before spending the money.
Does anyone in Brisbane have these fitted and if so would we be able to come over and try?
P.M and I'll be in touch
cheers

Keep in mind they raise the seating position, if you're tall they may not suit.
I was going to buy them but having a Poptop fitted there is even less head room than a standard defender.

Well, pulled the pin and fitted the Scheelmann seats.
They do raise your height above the regular seating position and they are firmer than the original.
So I was sceptical and began feeling I'd done the wrong thing, however, just finished a 14 hour drive to the snow from Brisbane to Dalgety. One fuel stop in Sydney and a few relief stops, however felt amazing.
Usually after that sort of drive I feel completely knackered.
so, I'm a fan. Well worth the money if your contemplating long drives.
short stuff, I would t bother.

Removable seat base or solid?

Seat base has a central pin at the front , when removed this enables the seat base to hinge up

We bought our first pair of Scheel seats in 1978, fitted them to evey 4wd we had until around 2000. they did have two sets of outside cushions replaced in that time as us shorties slid in and out but the coverings were still serviceable and hadn't torn or worn excessively. sold that set with a vehicle around that time in 2000.
Next 4wd vehicle was fitted with a set from a RS2000 Escort and they were sold with it a few years later.
The current set fitted to the Oka were bought new in the mid 80's and have been rebuilt twice but with the original coverings (a material made out of the stuff climbing ropes are made of apparently) and are still very comfortable to sit in all day.
When we bought the first set way back in 78 people thought we were mad spending $260 per seat but Scheel seats have proven to be one of the best investments ever for us.
