Had issues with my starter motor so bought a new LR boxed starter. Had my mechanic fit it - just as well as he said that the lead had welded to the terminal and had to be cut off to get it out It now starts better than ever however since getting it back I noticed that the fuel gauge reads the fill level and the tachometer stays on 1000 even after the motor is switched off and the key removed. I tried disconnecting the battery and leaving for a half an hour but still the same. The other issue is every time I start the motor, the trip meter resets to zero. The other weird thing is I plugged in my Nanocom and the plug is not working. I plugged in another unit and also nothing. Plugged into my PC they work fine.
I would appreciate if anyone has a clue as to what could be the problem and how to fix.
ThanksChenz

fuel sender is a traditional resistive type - 2 wire - gnd and return signal from and to the instrument cluster.
tacho is canbus from ECU
OBD2 - has 5 wires. +ve, 2 x gnds, Can H, Can L.
My guess you have a ground fault on the instrument cluster that is a common ground for the OBD2. The tacho stepper motor might be affect by the same ground fault.

the trip reset to zero after each start, possibly the interior light is not working? if the fuse is blown the trip will do this.
the other faults, as already suggested sounds like a bad earth

Correct, the interior light is not working. I will check the fuse and replace if necessary.
Thanks

Well just as DazzaTd5 responded the fuse was blown. A quick change and all working fine.
For those that don't want to creak their neck while trying to figure out what fuse is what I looked up the following site which has clear and easy to follow information on all the fuses in the Puma.
Thanks guys
