Please help shed some light

Hello there all my fellow discovery owners!!!

I need some guidance and insight with an issue I'm having with my D2 TD5.

In the morning I'll start her up and she runs like normal but give her 10 minutes and then the issue starts.

This is the problem I'm facing:

The power seems to disappear until I get above 2500 rpm and once I pass 2500 rpm its as if the turbo finally decided to join the party. Heaven help me if I get to an uphill and I'm below 2500 rpm because then there's no power whatsoever. I have to gear down to get the revs up once again.

What could be the cause of this?

You really need a diagnostic tool ... ie. nanocom.

log a trip, save the log, upload the log, and the guys that know how to read them correctly will help identify the problem.

Depending on the year of the vehicle:

It could be the MAF.

It could be the MAP.

It could be the turbo wastegate.

It could be a leak in the boost side of the intake.

It could be the injector washers or O rings.

It could be incorrect cam timing.

It could be a failing ECU.

Add mentioned above, it's almost impossible to diagnose without any data.

+1 for a live data log to correctly diagnose it... untill then check for oil in the ECU red plug and the turbo hoses to not be cracked or delaminated albeit without using a diagnostic tool it can become an expensive "parts darts" kind of game as to replace suspect parts/sensors based on guesses.
