My vehicle gets very stinky inside during a DPF regen if driving slowly such as on my driveway after a 100 kph run, even though all windows are closed, air not on recirculate and the fan is on 5/7. The smell is acrid like burning rubber. I haven't determined if the smell is from outside the DPF or the catalytic converter or if it is from the exhaust. There is no evidence of any burning when checking underneath with the front on ramps.
I wonder if this occurs with all vehicles with the D300/D350 engine or possibly only with the quite rare D300/D350 L405 or with earlier L405s with a DPF or if something is amiss with my vehicle.
Edit: It seems that the stink is normal for a DPF regen, so now to discover why exhaust is getting into the cabin while the vehicle is moving. Tail-wind perhaps?
