Aircon Turning on at Random

My D3's aircon has acquired a new function. It now turns itself on randomly. It will turn off with a push of the 'OFF' button, but not permanently.

Anyone have any ideas?

The cabin is monitored for Carbon Dioxide and Methane, and in the interest of passenger health the vehicle reenables fresh air intake when certain limits are reached. Maybe lay off the beans for a little while?

The aircon itself. Nice and cold, but unnecessary at this time of the year, here.
