I have a 2007 DiscoveryTDV6 with a Fault code B1A55-14 (AF) Crash record output circuit short to ground or open. This is supposed to be fixed by resetting the Intertia switch. I cannot for the life of me find this thing and I've taken most of the passenger side behind the glovebox apart. The wiring diagram does not show an inertia switch. Can anyone please tell me if there is one and where the hell it is exactly. If not how to I reprogram ECU.

FYI found a fix in GAP tool to reset Pump. See Service test : PCM Engine: Fuel lift pump reset.
One down more to go ?

Nicely done - I guess the inertia switch trips the pump, but how did you work out that was the reset needed?

I always wondered what that menu item was for!
There is no separate intertia switch in the D3/4. There is a separate hardwired "Inertia event" wire that runs from the airbag module to the ECM however. That makes sense as the airbag module manages all the accelerometers to detect what would be an "Inertia event" anyway. I suppose doing it hardwired takes the possibility of CAN bus damage out of the equation when forcing a shutdown.

Spoke to GAP Canada and they had previously given me a fix after I installed a used Engine ECU which did not work at the time.,tried it again as it includes a message to update Intertia and well as fuel pump update. Miraculously it worked and message disappeared. Still can't start the bloody thing though. Parking brake seems to be the only problem left.
