A bit early but getting in before the time just disappears.
Merry Christmas to all and have a safe and successful New Year!

I hope everyone is enjoying the Xmas weather as it will be hot and humid in Brisbane, with the coldest Xmas day in Melbourne for 19 years, whereas in Perth it will be hot enough to cook the Xmas turkey on the dash of a car in the sun.

Meanwhile we’re due a 26° Christmas.
Quite unusual for here.
Our high 30s don’t arrive until Sunday.
Merry Christmas all

Looking at the Sunset Time, what's the reason for Daylight Saving in Tassie?
......and a "Merry Christmas", to all members.

.
Hi,
Curvature of the Earth. Launceston is 10 minutes earlier.
We introduced it in the '60s I think due to low storage levels in Hydro dams.
A large generating ship was brought in to Hobart from overseas (at great expense) to keep the lights on .
Then the Bell Bay Powerstation (oil) was built and later changed to gas.
Fifteen hours of daylight is great . Nine hours in June - not so great .
Cheers

Merry Christmas nutbags! May your glass be full, demerit points be empty and I hope you are surrounded by people you actually want to be around, rather than the drunk brother who wants to borrow your torque wrench.
Thanks for another year of camaraderie and support (moral and otherwise).
P.S. My brother has given up the booze and wouldn't know one end of a torque wrench from the other. So I'm good (as long as he leaves his wife at home tomorrow anyway).

Not just brothers ... sisters and nephews should also be included. [biggrin]
Best wishes to all you're respective Landrovers and hope they had a good year.

Not sure if this is the right place - set off with my son & his kids in his D2 to watch the Christmas lights. Towed it home about 1030 with the 110 after it lost all the transmission fluid.
But has not significantly dampened Christmas spirit today.
Now have one kid working until one today, delaying Christmas dinner and presents.
But other than that, everything is normal, including my d-i-l shouting at me for offering to help in the kitchen.

Well at least the D2 decorated the road in Christmas themed red ATF. I hope it's something simple like a loose fitting

Unlikely to even be looked at until the new year - and I'm going home on the 28th.

I had a nice Christmas went with Jackie and Devin ( Mario fishing buddy) from down the road to her sister's place. And she had a lot of sea food, whole cray, prawns mussels and very expense caviar. And I don't eat a lot of sea food I tried the caviar which seems strange I wont eat mussels yet Mario loved to eat them. Mario would have totally love this spread.
One thing I learned that you have to use a bone spoon as you can not use a metal spoon as it does something to the caviar. There was other thing cold meats salads. There was so much there you could have feed another 6 people.
I came home early and had to cook tea for Kristopher and Bronte, had prepared every thing the night before. Does any one feel tired today, I seem buggered today.
Also it is Kristopher birthday today he turned 31 where the hell did all those years go.
To all the ones that are on the roads traveling, stay safe out there and watch out for these stupid drives out there. Heather

I like how Santa is under the bonnet, I'm guessing it's not loss of motive power as he has the reindeer, so must be lights, luckily he has "Rudolph with his nose so bright, to guide the sleigh tonight", that song makes a lot more sense now.
