That was not a mistake, it was a deliberate error, just to see that you were all paying attention...
First time I've seen the mag and congratulations, a job well done. I put newspapers and newsletters and other things together for a crust and to those who've spent many tiresome, unpaid hours crafting this fine piece, they deserve a pat on the back, or a beer or ten, or other gratuities.
Fenial Eel, your work? Good stuff, mate.. (never let the facts get in the road of a good story) and yes i have a copy of the now famous 'yellow' edition.
In print, we all make the odd blue, but no one ever notices, even the proof readers, until the print run is over and out and you've run 100,000 copies (and the blue is always on the front page, funny about that).
Cheers, GQ

Cheers mate,
had a few dramas with the previous issue, and am trying to get a better format, but it's coming along.
Appreciate the feedback, and the P***taking from the rest of you:p;)

FE If you want some help, I'm here. It's a bugger of a job getting print looking the way you want, I know, I see sooooo many things i could improve on every edition of my publications...but i fix those and other things stick out like the balls on a dog. (male obviously)...
Frankly tho, I wouldn't fiddle around with it too much, just work on fine tuning, not wholesale change, or you will be there forever (even more so than now), tinkering. and that's what Land Rovers are for....(or outboard engines, or old motorbikes, or old dago sports cars, or the missus, or the kids, or....better go.....
Cheers, GQ

I can't open the PDF file. I've tried downloading it again. I've tried saving it first and then opening it. I've even updated from Acrobat Reader 5 to version 7.0.8 to no avail.
The message I get from Acrobat is:
There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.
Any thoughts on what to try next?
Thanks
David

Pedro, frankly, once they've gone, they've gone, it's so very interesting to look back on older editions and see what you've done right...or wrong. I've been running a local for six years and the entirety of the work is fascinating on reflection...but like FE's pic of a certain 'yellow' LR, these's 'blues' are more in the typo category..as opposed to the absolute biased BS pumped out by say ACA, or Today Tonight.. I think FE has done very well, but he missed one small connection LOL, could've got Stevo68 to sponsor the whole edition.
Spudboy: I can open this pdf on a Mac, no probs at all...I'm a bit perplexed as to why you're having a prob, more info, mate. System, machine, OS, etc and I'll try and help, but I'm no genius with windows devices, (but if it was a Mac...).
While I'm here, I hear the news that Mitsubishi is to close its Aussie ops, due to the 380 not selling; sad, for the workers, apparently a real good car, but it looks like, well.........

OK - I'm running Windows XP SP2 on an AMD64 3500+ with 2Gb RAM. Nothing special installed in it: Office, Media Player, MSM, VB6, SQL Server 2000.
I can open up any number other PDFs so not sure what it is. I'll try it on another PC and see if that works.
Just one of those mysteries of Windows XP.......

Spudboy: I've just swapped machines, now on a windows xp laptop about a year old. found the mag section and it (the new edition 15 of the aulrovian) opened up in adobe reader 6.0 in seconds.
I suspect you have a confliction with your pdf reader, which means that you may have two or more pdf reader programmes trying to do the job so they're all fighting with each other and you not getting anywhere - like i said windows is not my forte but, in Mac land, conflictions cause all sorts of dramas, so check how many pdf readers you have and dump what is unneccessary, but it would be interesting to hear what our reeal windows operators have to say....there are a few windows experts here....
cheers, GQ

Whilst I'm at it....
The yellow D90 is the right car, and it belongs to DiscoNut.
I got the car right, just got the username mixed up with DiscoWhite
Of course driving a Yellow D90 and calling yourself Disconut, may seem confusing - but that's standard behaviour here at AULRO:D
Thanks for the bouquets guys (& the brickbats);)

Thanks FE for emailing it direct to me. That one works just fine.
The one I downloaded was only 250K but the one you emailed was 600K, so looks like the download was truncated somehow.
At least I have the latest version of Acrobat Reader now. Been meaning to upgrade from v5 for ages, so at least it got that done.
Thanks again
David
