If you had the choice of THREE people in the world to have a meal / BBQ / dinner with--
Who would you invite?
I'll start the ball rolling
and in no particular order---
Mick Doohan
Johnny Depp
Bert Newton
Mick to discuss tactics
Johnny to figure out how his brain works
and Bert to have a beer with
oh,, living people only please hiline--- ;)

Bono-great music, coool, and great philosophy on life
pat rafter-man who has the capacity to tap into his maximum potential despite not being brilliantly gifted-at least on the court
john howard-man who has capacity to tap into his minimum potential despite being quite intelligent
This should make for some great conversation over a few fine reds.

Hmmm, I would have had Steve Irwin and Ayrton Senna in that list, both highly inspirational. :(
Vic Widman a legend that has been there and seen that in Australia. A great conversationalist also.
Valentino Rossi. A great rider, inspirational and a great sense of humour
Tim Allen. He's just a really funny bastard that could mesh into any conversation about anything and turn it all upsidedown.

George W Bush, if he choked I'm sure I'd forget all my first aid training :)
Osama Bin Laden would be nice to share a coversation with someone who approved of my decision not to give first aid to George W.
The Sting ray that killed Steve Irwin, It's always good to hear the other side of the story.

How could it possibly be narrowed down to only 3 people
Another question "who picks up the bill at the end of the night"
How about the top 3 executives from the Land Rover Special Vehicles Branch

Billy Connolly (it would be nice to just sit back and listen)
Ashley Judd (it would be nice to just sit back and look)
and Ned Kelly ( because they wouldn't know who the hell he was):D

Can we call on re-incarnation? If so:-
Gough Whitlam- the greatest living Australian
Smokey Yunick- for his endearing attitude to rule makers
(and wouldn't they give each other the s--ts)
either Fred Offenhauser, Leo Goosen, or Dale Drake, for their individual commitment to quality product, engineering excellence, and customer service.

'Tis a pity it's limited to the living, otherwise:
Capt. James Cook - To show him a tad more of the country
Capt. Arthur Phillip - I'd love him to see what he started and to discuss those early days.
But who to have as the 3rd? A modern politician? Howard? A dead pollie - Menzies?
I think Len Beadell - a "modern" explorer!
I'd really like a few more dinner parties!
What about Capt. Bligh and Fletcher Christian for the real story of the Mutiny on the Bounty? (I lived on Norfolk Island for 3 years.)
Whilst typing this I was thinking who are the men I admire the most and this the line from the song American Pie came to mind!):
"And the three men I admire most
The Father, Son and the Holy Ghost"
You could save money and invite Jesus Christ alone and there's your three! :D
I'm not religious, but if there was a J.C., then I think he'd be an interesting guest.

Well, my wife is a given - I'm assuming we are talking of three dinner guests so that means persons other than my wife and I.
When I was considering my guests, I tried to think of a woman I'd invite,.
I considered Queen Elizabeth II but couldn't think of many other interesting women that would fit with my first two guests. Germaine Greer came fleetingly to mind!

If you want females then
Jessica Simpson
Jennifer Hawkins
Jessica Alba
Dinner would be good,
Watching would be good,
Getting seen with them would be better

Good on ya hiline!
But maybe we could chuck in Condi Rice and ask her what such an allegedly educated female is doing, hanging around with a twit. ie GW Bush.
Jennifer Hawkins, hmmmm....

1. Charlie Watts, because he is, well, Charlie Watts
2. Prince Harry, he seems like a party animal and being young is not a crime.
3. I want to say George Bush because he is a cattle man and the leader of the most powerful nation in the world. He is also the man who is doing most to keep the free world safe in the face of ignorant abuse from throttlers shouting from the sidelines BUT he is now a non drinker and Charlie Watts has given up the booze as well so I need another drinker, Dick Cheney.
Actually I admit I'd like to have Bono as well, politically he is such a tosser but a good bloke underneath and boy would we have one of those dinner party stoushes that make you happy to be alive.
Women: 1. Elle MacPherson, 2. Camille Paglia, 3. Condeleza Rice.

My 3 for no other reason than they entertain me and I would like to have some personal time in their presence
Billy Connelly - just too funny
John Williamson - greatest Australian songwriter ever
Les Hiddins - inspirational for a traveller/landy owner
if one couldn't make it for some reason then I would have Jennifer Hawkins just for the eye candy factor

Interesting topic, havent really thought about it, but i guess if I was to have some of these folks over it would be
1. Sir Richard Branson- a man who has built an empire from nothing and remains a top bloke.
2. Ben Elton- Bloody funny, intelligent and with a message.
3. Clint Eastwood- what can you say.
Now if it were the chicky babes well then:
1. Megan Gale- Bestill my beating heart
2. Uma Thurman- yummy mummy
3. Sharlea- my partner, best put that in just in case.
All in all though my pick of the people to have to dinner would simply be my mates:D
