Does anyone have, or know where I can get bench seats for the rear of a Series 3?

There seems to be 2 seater and 3 seater models - is his right?

Thanks

Yes I do, if you mean the side mounted ones on a Hardtop

Three-seaters are a UK market dodge to make the wagons a 12 seater and exempt from car tax. You'll want up to 4 2-seaters for the back of a LWB, 2 for a SWB. Still reckon you should get a wagon, mate :p

Lol. And I've told him so too, but he's set his heart on another and mine's heartbroken. :D

If he smiles nicely, Numpty and I will sell him Dune Car...which has all its seats still, so he'll have a full set.

Reckons he wants a 2-door, Numpty's Missus (surely you have a name of your own?)

I'd offer him the "spare" back seat of mine but maybe the next owner would want to put it back in.

Buuut - Sam, keep asking, there must be people who have them hanging around.

When I worked at Leyland Truck & Bus, Brisbane, in the Seventies, the wagons were described as 10 seaters as a twelve seater required a bus licence, and was charged CTP insurance as a bus.

And I understand the exact opposite was true in the UK - came out as a 10 seater but by putting 6 in the back (moving the second row forward) they could register as 12 and avoid sales tax.

My Stage 1 has been Complianced down to an 8 seater. In the 90's you needed a bus license to drive a 10 seat vehicle so previous owner took out one of the back seats and the seatbelts. Mine has a "dog guard" so probably illegal to seat people behind that anyway, despite the compliance and the seating.

I've looked at seating from the UK, and only the front seats are the same between the 10 and 12 seater versions. I've never seen a 12 seater in Oz, though I'm sure there's one just to prove me wrong.

I'm assuming you want to keep them - any idea where I might find any?

I have the two side facing seats out of my old County. I'm pretty sure they are each 3-seaters.

I'm in western Sydney.

County's good, Sam. Same seats as Series but with cloth trim so less slipping. Could spare one of those for you once I confirm I can mod the County second row to take 4 kids.
