My '97 Defender has the same problem, no water leaks in and no oil leaks out :o. What's more the heater works really well.

Someone suggested it might be a Wednesday morning built car.

I've checked all the oils, and they're all still there, they just won't come out! I suppose if I need to build character, I'd better hang on to the Series III.

You obviously haven't asked the dealer to do anything to the car - ever. I would expect these things to arise through the normal course of servicing. Are you sure you haven't been naughty and got your scheduled servicing done elsewhere?

Simple, there's obviously no oil or water in it...

I'll loan you my Disco 1 if you're wanting a 'leaky' fix. Got more leaks than a B29.....

Cheers, GQ

It's going in for service next week as well as some warranty things..........I'll put in a warranty claim for no oil leaks and see if they can fix it

Its what happens when you outsource all your major components to specialists companies (ZF for auto & TC, Peugeot/Ford for engine and GKN for diffs/axles etc).

Best thing that has ever happened, leaves LR to concentrate on the engineering and design which is what they do best.

You won't need to put in a claim, I believe it's the subject of a recall so they will install your leaks automatically. Look for the sticker inside the door when you pick it up.

Perhaps it's in the next ECU upgrade?

it's an unfortunate tale that, some folks unfortunately get stuck with a lemon...I on the other hand have been lucky enough to have been stuck with a collander....:D

My 1 year old defender has a leaking transfer case, and mainseal (probably). Both of which LR are denying... LOL. I'll remind them about it more forcefully before the warranty runs out.

I can't complain they have been generous with warranty so far :)

I know how you feel, Richard! Clocked 58000km today and not a single leak. As for the air..perfect 22deg inside all day! Gee some things are hard to take!

When you bought it you forgot to tick the following options

+ Automatic reapplying rust prevention system
+ extended filter life option with Automatic oil contaminant removing system
+ Return to last location marker system
+ Driveway dust supression system

Actually, I've got a 'driveway dust supression system'. It's called concrete!:D

i don't think so, the oil patch on the road at the front of our place is not from my wife's disco, but from that p.o.s. mercedes ML320 she had before.......that is until it went in for the 40k service. the land rover technicians managed to find the source of the absent oil leak and substituted a leak from the oil filter for us. luckily i got a mate who does his nana a lot, who works there, we soon got it fixed....bunch of dead$hits
