LRHIf you would like to fix it, you can see it all you like ;) .

It looks the part but needs a fair bit of sorting out to make it a decent driver.

It has something like a 5" spring lift & some strange work done to the axle housings to get the diffs pointed at the transfer case.
The rear doors still open too !!

Paul's the owner, he's a friend of Mick(cal415). Mat(Dobbo) knows the guy who made it.

And no I wouldn't buy it!!!

It was a comp car but I don't know if it was ever entered in any. I know it used to have lockers and a full cage. At the moment it needs decent rubber and some weight over the rear axle, electrical work is a must, It looks the part

It has got potential with money spent on it.

Personally I'd get one built that way I know what problems are associated with it.

Sorry if the last post offends Paul

On a positive note, it has an almost orgasmic sound to it.

I think it must have been in the same accident as Siths yogurt truck:D

Well its sitting in my backyard at the moment, still with start motor issues.

Its not that bad a truck, just needs the lift sorted out and tires changed to make it decent. Well thats what we think so far anyway. only real issue was its on road handling and rides a bit rough.

I would buy it - for the right price, the body work is great, i love the way its been converted.

And yes - its got an unreal sound to it.

I've just got around to reading this thread and I'm confused by the title:

"Who's is this Rangie Ute? "

That translates to "Who is is this Rangie Ute?" :D :D

Commonly Confused Words

who's with whose; who's is a contraction of who is or who has, while whose is used in questions such as whose is this? and whose turn is it?

Oh, I suppose I had better read all the posts! :)

Like I've always said, nothing wrong with my spelling but I can't be ****ed changing it to be honest so it's left as is.

You need to find another hobby, too much time on your hands :D :D :D

Trav, as you've (hopefully) realised by now, I try to do it with a bit of fun.

I'm hopeless at other things that people on here do with aplomb, e.g., Disco Ute, Disco White, et al. (Hmm, have I spelt their names correctly? :D )

I never (I hope) rubbish people in a derogatory way unless they do it to me first.

I really appreciate the knowledge and skills of people on this forum and I try to think of them as friends with whom I can have a bit of campfire fun.

Everyone from this forum whom I have met has been great. LRs do give us a wonderful sense of camaraderie.

The reasoning behind my comment yesterday of not buying the ute is simple, it's not the vehicle in general more a fear of what has or hasn't been built correctly (a problem associated with many if not all highly modified cars)
I am sure we have all brought a vehicle with an extra switch or mod or whatever and wondered what this switch does, is it working properly. etc..

This is my reasoning, the ute is just too highly modified for me. If I bought it the first thing I would want to do is to strip it down and rebuild it so I know what the vehicle has and hasn't got.

The nature of buying a modded vehicle is that you research it before you buy it. IMHO anyway, thus you gain the knowledge and understanding of exactly what you are driving. So saying, being in the auto industry, I believe half the fun of having a modded car is the agony you have to go through to get it to that point. You know the usual parts dillemas, breakages and other general stuff ups all join together to make you absolutely adore your car. Even so, the first time I saw that ute I was like, "That's just damn sexy!" And I hadn't even looked at the driver!;)

Ron I know that you're just taking the ****, just had to comment. I can't help myself ;) :)

Yes one thing that the LR fratenity is void of (thankfully) are overbearing knobs who think they know everything and try to tell you there way is the ONLY way. Toyota drivers fit into this catagory I have disovered over the years of owning my Rangies (just go to Overlander forum of which both of us visit from time to time).

Anyway, keep up the spelling Ron. Like yourself, I don't start on anyone unles they have a crakc at me first (anti-LR comments on OL I can live with, it's when they rave on and have little knowledge about what they're taklking abouut is what makes me angry and offering so-called advice without getting there facts right to start with).
