Filming resumed today for Top Gear, according to The Sun (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006460299,00.html). Yay!

Top Gear host Richard Hammond’s horror 300mph crash will NOT spell the end of the show.
BBC crews resume work on the next series today — filming TV co-host and Sun columnist Jeremy Clarkson test-driving a Lotus.

Hammond was furious the BBC postponed the new series following his accident. Executive producer Andy Wilman vowed to quit if the emphasis on speed was toned down.
And Clarkson — filming at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey today — stressed: “It’s what we do.”

My wife and daughter love it, too.

Re the F-truck, there's a bloke on the Rangie.com list who thinks they are better than Land/Range Rovers (yes, I know that a Range Rover is a Land Rover :p ).

At least Top Gear like the Vauxhall Monaro.

Good Stuff.
But I like the F trucks, nice to drive, plenty of room and power. Not bad off road either.

Top Gear is definite 'stay home' tv around here.

F series?: I had a new Bronco back in 85 and loved it, just fantastic!

I would like to get another, there was something about it and it did its offroad work well enough for me, but (being a lazy bugger) getting out to lock the front hubs was a bit of an annoyance....

DOWNLOAD, DOWNLOAD, DOWNLOAD...

I believe it is the most downloaded show on the internet. Not surprising since the BBC make each episode available for free on-line viewing in the UK. Can't access it if your IP is from elsewhere, but there are no shortage of torrent sites with links to past episodes. Just watch your usage...

The wife and I can't get enough of the show. I download it off e-mule whenever the shows become available.

There is light at the end of the tunnel!!

Once Hammond has recovered, his crash will be shown on TV Sky News (http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1236341,00.html) reports. It’s speculated that it’ll be aired immediately before the first episode of the new season of Top Gear.

A funny story bout Broncos....

A good mate of mine had one....big wheels, exhausts, raised, warmed over 5.7 etc.....anyway I was driving it [with him alongside] back into Sydney from Blue Mtns when the Freeway ended a bit past the present car racetrack and you had a set of lights where you joined up with the GWH.....

I'm happily belting along at 110 or so and [I swear!] about 5 klm from the end he says: "You better put on the brakes now".....I checked the speedo, thinking he'd spotted the coppers and I was over the speed limit, but I wasn't....so said "No, I'm right mate".....he repeats, but with a lil bit of urgency "You better put on the brakes" ...."Why?" I ask....."You're near the end of the freeway" he says......."Nah mate, it's miles yet" says me....."You've never driven [this car] this fast before, you've gotta put on the brakes NOW!" he says......"It's miles still"......"I'm telling you - you've gotta start braking heavily right now!" he says......by this time we're about 3klm from lights so to keep him happy I start braking........Nothing much happens.....I press harder......still not slowing down.....I really start to press down hard on brake pedal and I honestly thought we'd had a brake failure without any warning lights going on......I'm standing on brakes then try pumping them once.......No difference .......I think after a kilometre I noticed it slowing but by this time was already thinking that there was NO way we'd stop in time for the lights and had selected down to 2 in the auto box but it wasn't going to actually down shift to 2 till probably 60 klm/h.....I was seriously sweating!! and pressing down as hard as I could to effect what minimal braking I could.......I was in middle lane with cars adjacent both sides - so no real escape route!......All I could do was keep pressing down as hard as I could on brakes to gradually slow down.........then I began to feel pedal getting softer......OH F**K!!.....

Well I'm here to tell the tale.....so, we DID eventualy stop at the intersection lights.....but with the car stopped at lights there was smoke pouring from the brakes and pedal had sunk to the floor......we got out and looking at the smoking little drums on the back and front discs no bigger than tea saucers I thought I'd been real lucky!......He took over driving after we waited about 1/2 hr for the brakes to cool.

I was used to Range Rovers [had had 3 by then].....but Yankee iron mongery designed in the 50's and built in the 80's was a whole diffrent ball park!;)

Yeah but they don't need brakes in the States...
