I will have work on my off-road trailer started next week (I hope)
It would be Fantastic to be able to build from ground up. I nearly bought a shorty to convert to trailer, however I have pulled out of it. I had decided to work with my existing OFF-Road Trailer. The Parts should be in Adelaide today, I believe. 2.5t Rated Axles and LR Studded Hubs with electric brakes.
Dropping the existing Draw bar and wacking on new ones, extending it around 610mm, and upgrading the Tubes to 100*50*4mm These reach back to the Hangers. Extra Struts underneath as well.
Then I will be rigging a Frame similar to Walker's however, likely with Flanges so the Top Frame can come off. The frame will support a roof top tent, when I finally source one.
My frame will unfortunately have to be higher due to the Lid of the Trailer Opening Up hinged on a long side. Though it does slide of to form a table, it is too heavy to slide of and on willy nilly to access the trailer.
I'll get some pics moving soon.
