OK fess up .........
How many of you yobbos are members .....:wasntme: .... ;)
Thinking about trotting along to a meeting and just curious.
We've been members of a more general 4WD club for quite some time but getting a tad cheesed off with the bulls##t that goes on. Very cliquey from time to time and far and away too much time spent at meetings arguing over petty crap.
Hopefully this is not an issue with chaps driving adequate vehicles ? .... :p

Hi Rosco,
I'm not a yobbo:p
But I am a member of the LROCB, and have been for the last 2 years
great buch of people there, and you wont be razzed about the type of car you own, unless it's a toysan:D
BTW, I'm currently the trip coordinator for the club, there is a general meeting on this coming Monday 9th October so feel free to drop by and see what we are like for yourself. There are quite a few guys on AULRO that are members and in the comittee.

I'm a member but I haven't managed to get on a run yet... LOL.
They all seem like nice guys and it seems pretty free of excessive politics. I think you'll fit right in Rosco :)

Gentlemen ..... and Dianna :)
My use of the term "yobbo" was very much tongue in cheek.
Based on my association with this site over the years, I would venture to suggest the majority of forumites are yobbos to a greater or lesser degree, but in the nicest possible sense of course ....:p
Afterall ... ask any non Landie owner .... esp the toysan types .... now there's a bunch of ..... dare I say ..... strange fellows :D:D

Oh.... and if I had a dollar for every time we have argued at meetings over petty crap, I would not even be able to raise the 50 cents required to partake of tea and biscuits at the end.

I am also a member. I don't so a lot of the trips as I find them a bit too easy in all honesty (problem when you have 33's, winch and maxi's both ends  ) but a great bunch of blokes and techically minded. I am running a Beerwah SF trip later in the month as well. I am active in the Gold Coast LR club as well, more my speed regards to trips, etc..
Club politics, every club has it and best off steering clear. What I hate about meetings is that you always get some boofhead rabbiting on about absolute crap, feel like telling them to pull there head in and shut up
But come along, I'll be there.

I have been a member of GCLRO coming up to 10 mths, I havent been a member of a general club, but find our club fantastic. Unless I am blind I would be hard pushed to even smell a scent of politics in the club. Just a great bunch of people, loving their landies and getting off road and camping together ( but not in a Brokeback Mountain type of way  )

Was refering to other 4WD clubs, not ours and no politics is why I joined the GCLROC plus they like to play hard
I've been in over the years. I have been involved in about 5 4WD clubs, some worse than others.

The LROCB has a nice Treasurer, but rumour is she'll be off the market come Saturday. Something to do with marrying the Secretary....

I have been to one meeting and there was no politics at all. I cannot join yet as you have to do at least one trip and I am keen to do the one to Levuka in November.
Does anyone know if this will trip will be discussed tonight. if so I will do my best to get there (which would mean rescheduling something else)

Hi DiscoStew
I do remember you attending the meeting last year.
The good news is we have amended the rules slightly. You can now join straight away if you wish. It is now an option that you attend an outing.
Yes we will likely discuss the christmas event, but I can also send you the details as well.
Send me a PM or an email through the club website and I will fill you in.
Cheers

Thanks Dave,
My Sister-in-law will appreciate me not rescheduling her. I will PM you in a couple of weeks to get the details of the trip, and probably get to the next meeting which is directly before the trip.
