If you have a few minutes, can I have a price check on LPG and unlead and your location; I'm stirring up a story for my local paper.
Thanks for your help.

Heres one for you to check out Quiggers.
Its been reported on the news and in the West this morning. The BP refinery despite the falling oil price put petrol up ex its Kwinana refinery 12.6 CPL overnite.Stating it would be good for competition.
TRUE STORY!!!! a look at a couple of the news websites should give you the info.

Thanks for your help everyone, you are all so good! Keep up the good work, I do appreciate your help with this subject.
Just heard on the 5 o'clock ABC news that the Singapore bench price has dropped even further - looks like unlead might get back under a dollar a litre, at least in some places, on a more permanent basis...or maybe I'm just dreaming......
Can I have a few more 'spotters' for LPG?
At my paper we out to pressure a dominant supplier to do something about LPG pricing.
e.g. When unlead around here was $1.40 a litre, LPG was 70cpl.
Unlead is now $1.11 (ish) but LPG has come down only a bit, it's still 68cpl.
(Add 10 cents at least, for diesel).
Rip offf!!!!!!!!

I understand too, just completed a round trip to Adelaide and back, paid up to $1.65 plus and was happy to do so. There is no point in getting too excited by fuel prices, just do what I do, put more in when required!

JohnE: When ever I go 'over the border' (about once a month due to work stuff and visit the rels) I take several jerrycans and the boat tanks. Save myself $40 or more every time! 200 litres goes a long way around here!
But i get some strange looks at the Tugun servo.
(check your PM's).

Hmmm LPG Charmhaven NSW 56.9 ULP 124.9. At San Remo 2k up the road LPG is 63.9.
While I like the fact that fuel prices are lower on the coast/more populated areas I have to admit that at least regional prices dont fluctuate up and down like a yoyo. Drives me insane. I go to Tamworth every 6 weeks or so for a week, and the price is the same the whole week!

The refineries change the fuel price on purpose to even out demand during the week. Refineries usually operate at one fixed rate, so supply rates are (usually) constant, and they would ideally like demand to be constant as well. Since people tend to buy more fuel at the end of the week and weekends, the price is higher at those times. During the start of the week, they do what they call "discounting".
I assume that country areas either see less of a fluctuation, or just always sell at the higher price (plus extra transport costs).

Far out, geez I really feel for you guys in the NT...
You're getting done like a dogs dinner - why?
I just shouldn't be 50% more
anyone here in Darwin???
i'd like to know the actual cost on the ground
maybe we can stir up some action...
because the inland fuel prices are beyond ridiculous....

I don't complain about it to be truthful. Have a look at some of the distances they have to transport the fuel for us. Three Ways alone is 1000km's at least from the nearest depot. Kinda a bit different to the East Coast.

Yes but Darwin and Gove are direct shipments from Singapore so there is no freight at all (well apart from the shipping cost and a fuel truck from the wharf tank farm). Yes the other places are far inland but so is much of QLD, NSW and WA. So why do we pay almost as much and often more on the coast?
Now I've got that off my chest, I don't spend that much on fuel anyway I manage about 70L in the Disco every 4 to 6 weeks. And anyway milk's $4.65 for 2L!
