Just found out that I may get time off in January so I can go to the music festival. Only problem is that accommodation is next to nothing at all. Now I'm not scared to rough it whilst I am there - it's only 8 nights for crying out loud.
But where can you throw your swag down - get a shower etc. Any ideas from anyone please. I'd hate it if I couldn't go just because I can't get any accommodation. Oh and the dates I need are: Arrive Friday 19 Jan and depart Sun 28th Jan.
Thanks in advance (or is that being very hopeful?)
Cheers
Chris

Are there any members on here from tamworth? Maybe a back yard could be utilised.
Failing that, what about any near by national parks. Ring the NPWS office and ask what camping is available, you would have to drive into town each day but it would be cheap, and not many people would have thought of it.
Or as broonski said the caravan parks are the other option, a none powered site would be easily had if you booked in early. Do a caravan park seach at www.yellowpages.com.au (http://www.yellowpages.com.au) and ring them all. Matt

I haven't been for about 6 years now but used to always camp in the hockey fields (not mentioning the year the Peel River flooded)... used to be $2 per shower and a $3 hot brekkie if you wanted it... and just across the bridge from all the action

That's a bloody good idea! Might have to check this one out.
Thanks for the replies.

Try Werris Crk or Scone for accomodation, they aren't that far away from Tamworth.
Worse case scenerio buy a lot of baby wipes and spend a week sleeping in the back of the Landy, or a non stop pub crawl drinking binge for six days.
Both are accomodation free alternatives.
