Hi all,
I don't know where to post this otherwise, that's why I am requesting help from you here...

well, a couple of weeks ago or so my harddisc went PANG, without much prior notice. In other words, a "physical failure", so I have to find some specialist to retrieve the data.
I bought a new disc and installed it as well as an operative system, W 2000 in this case (having been using W 98 prior to the trouble). Now everything is installed and working nicely, except for some quirks:

The EPC won't work! I tried to stop Orbix daemon as stated in the description but when trying to open the other Orbix file I always receive an error message and cannot proceed. I tried this several times but to no avail. Any suggestions from the experts?
I cannot access the internet! Although the line is open and connection established neither can my browser or e-mail program get out. It feels like a firewall or something is blocking all traffic. As I am not aware of any firewall installed I wonder if there might be another explanation.
Please help me as right now I am stuck and can only use my computer access at work.
Cheers and thanks in advance!!!

Regarding the EPC: It took me some time to work this out, but the EPC is based on windows 98 - it is notorious for not exactly working in others - ME & XP, although these OS are so similar.

You may want to format the whole lot and start again - fix the internet connection problem first.

If you just want the EPC to work, try uninstalling it, then re-install using program compatability wizard ( I presume 2000 has this).

That's how I got EPC to run on XP - by running each installation program in win98 mode.
