Melbourne 4x4 show

G`day all, I fly into Melbourne on Saturday morning and notice there is the "National 4x4 Show" & Fishing show on at the Exhibition Centre this weekend. I was thinking about heading there on Sunday for a while, any one been before, is it any good and worth going, or not really worth the effort.

It's been several years since I've been but I too am flying down to Melbourne and going to the show on Friday. It was very commercial and I'm sure it is even more so since the last time I went. But it's a good place to pick up ideas, what's new in camping and fishing and offroad stuff.

I noticed in the exhibitor list that Land Rover doesn't have a stand as such, though Overfinch does. I suppose that further highlights the direction of LR to the Toorak Tractor market. But Subaru and Holden are both there:confused:

If you're wanting to go, book your ticket on line and if you are a 4WD club member there is a discount of 50%. This way you don't have to queue for a ticket, just pick it up on the way in.

I havent been before either....only had Disco for about 2 years etc.

Whats the go....ok just to lob at the LROCV stand and say "Do you know me from the forum"????? We will be there on Sunday from about 10:00.

Im hoping to catch up with some of the members from the forum but......some I dont even know there real names.

So is name tags with real name and forum name a good idea? :confused: :p :p

Its just good to catch up with some "Real" LR owners as I dont get to "The Big Smoke" often.....most LR owners out this way are....well lets just say not to sure about talking to me about there LR.........its a shame when you cant even go up to a LR owner without getting the "What the hell do you want" look :( or they think Im going to offer them a "Great Deal" or even ask them to charge phone server etc :( :mad: :twisted:

I just dont get it........

Anyway if I speak to you on Sunday, say Gday on the forum , but make sure you remind me who you were....."You know me, I was wearing the Red jumper" :)

Not sure if anyone from this forum will be at the show on Sunday morning.

I am working on Saturday night for the Land Rover Owners club - We have a stand there connected to 4wd Vic.

We'll be handing out info about the Victorian 4x4 show at wandin.

The Adelaide show was just on. And it was a heap of crap.
Certainly not worth the $15.00 Entry, other than for the Hill Billy Camp Oven I bought with the Upside down gas contraption as an option to fire and beads.

Bloody neat idea actually.

I will be there Friday morning as we are off the Gold Coast on Saturday for a week. Dont know why I bother going to these shows as there is rarely anything new and I have more than enough gear for 3 people!
