Greylandy is making his TV debut tonight :D

Show: Police Files Unlocked
Channel 7
Time: 8:00pm

They are doing some segment on 4WDing so I offered to be a stunt driver for the day. Just a bit of background footage, nothing serious but the Greylandy seems very chuffed with himself .. ;) been strutting his stuff the whole week!

I didn't think a TD5 Defender was a real getaway vehicle, city wise, as such. Especially with a roof top tent (not the most inconspicuous vehicle around)

Must have had a chip and intercooler upgrade to outrun the pursuit V8's

hee hee. good on you.

I thought you were going to be in action doing a ram raid. One of the landys more crime related capabilities. My old S2A ex army had no locks and a push button for an ignition key. It was nicked once for a ram raid job. I used to take the rotor button out after that, until I fitted a decent kill switch combination.

haha the old rotor button trick, hey? Good one 99.
I used to love doing that at parties, to my mates, or to obnoxious drunk drivers, before they got to the car!!
Should've used it myself once!:nazilock:

Yes he reminds me of a slipstreamed rocketcar

Who did the aerodynamic package? Lego perhaps?

Look forward to watching you on the gogglebox.

Kimba and I sat on the lounge and eagerly watched the whole bloody show:eek: :p Jeez they pack the ads into that thing????

The only landy we saw was a white LSE Rangie for next week that had both front wheels missing and still outrunning the police! Gotta love those Classic Rangies!

Air suspension had packed it in .....probably just thought he was driving on the bump stops.

it may have been in the form of a subliminal message and as we are all attuned to Landys our brain didnt register what it was seeing.

Apologies guys ... they moved the 4WD segment to next week. There I was being premature again ... :D Sorry for the false alarm, all of you will have to watch again next week ...

Just out of interest I was chatting to the producer when we did the shoot, they shoot almost 8 hours of material for a 30 minute show. That excludes setup etc. For a show like Police Files it's OK, because a lot of the footage comes out of the archives but for a "standard" 30 minute segment they do almost a week's work. Just the small uphill section I had to drive took 10 takes to get the angles and positions right ... talk about repeating yourself.

Did you tell the director that you were used to this type of thing as it generally takes that long to get a descent photo with all the right articulation in it offroad:twisted:

Phew! I thought I must have blinked and missed it. Give us a 'heads up' next time it's coming on would you?
Some of the camera work is a little bit too good to be true in my opinion - how come there is some "fugitive" being persued by half a dozen police cars and they can still get close drive-by footage from three or four locations? (I'm not talking about the helicopter shots);)
