Hi All

I was toying with the idea of making a snorkel, (one day!) for my 81' range rover.
It would be more for cool air intake than for water crossings.
Has anyone made thier own?

If you have a few pics and/or parts list would be great.
Or is it best to just get the real thing?

Hmmm, it certainly looks the part.
Did you get the tubing from anywhere in particular?
Is it aluminium or stainless?

Steve, midalia steel, onesteel all sell tubing of all sizes and metals to the public, I bought my sheet of checker plate 2.5mm 2400mm x 1200mm there for $186

thanks for all your ideas.
I'll have to find a cheap ram for the top of the snorkel first. That wil give me a start so I can get the correct size tubing.
I think the rotary pre-filters would be a good idea though.
Funny, all these things I want to do and I have a hard time finding the time to even give the Rangie a wash!

I bought my ram from Don Kyatt (I think) - it was a 3" ram. I also noticed a local muffler shop had them when I was there last week (for Western Sydney-siders, it is between Richmond and Windsor, near the RAAF base - just down from Horseland).
