Prices have risen by £2,000, with the top model just £3,000 short of the Discovery TDV6 SE, but you really are getting more car for the money.

Ouchie :(

I have been driving a fairly new Freelander today. I must say the TD4 motor work's really well in the Freelander. This one has only done 1200KM.
Will be happy to pick the Disco up at the end of the day though.

At those prices Landrover have lost the plot. At D3 TDV6SE is about $80K on the road so the top of the range Freelander is going to be about $70k - and the base model close to $50K - no way is this going to sell here.

Nope, it wont, it hasnt sold here with the current and older models because of the price, it certainly aint going to sell at that price, not without a transfer case. It will be even dearer when it gets here with the exchange rate being so bad in our favour. Matt

With the auto, I think you'll find it's pretty capable. :D

I know its capable, and dont doubt that, but people in Aus dont see value for money in a supposed 4wd at that price when it doesnt have low range. Especially when its size would put it in direct competition with the new Cherokee. With low range it would out sell that as it would be marginally more expensive but is far better value for money, with all the gadgets, and better build quality from what i have heard. Matt

Well.... You pays yer money & takes yer choice.

Don't try & second guess the Oz pricing just yet. You never know... They might come in several $$$ lower than the UK? (In the past, the pricing has been sooo different that I have actually considered importing a new LR from Oz!)

Mind you, there's nothing stopping them stuffing you guys so we can get cheaper cars over here.
