Here I am, paying $90 a month for a cable service that has NOTHING, I mean SWEET :censored: ALL on          :exclam: :exclam: :exclam: :exclam: :exclam: :exclam:

Since the demise of Fox Footy, it's been a waste of money IMO. At least they had repeats on during the off-season and if you are living in a NRL dominated state like QLD you knows what's going on (trade, draft, etc, etc....)

Any of out fellow AULRO Foxtel subscribers have this feeling? Feel like ****ing it off and living with 5 channels of crap TV. I can whinge about it, at least I'll be better off in pocket and I can spend more time talking to you blokes on this 'ere site :D :D :D

We don't have Foxtel however I wouldn't mind the Discovery channel. Bugger the rest though.
Between working on your Rover, driving your Rover and then telling us all about it here how on Earth do you get your moneys worth watching Foxtel?

is Foxtel your ISP as well?

I have a contract with Telstra (never again I will say) and got Foxtel with it. I get cheap broadband as long as I have Foxtel, but feel like blowing my coin and tell them to shove there Foxtel right up there clacker

See your point Utemad, maybe I am a bit mad myself. Discovery channel is okay, and a couple of the others. But not worth $90 a month.

One of the reasons I DON'T have Foxtel or similar is that I don't want sport, news, cartoon, or music TV channels so why should I pay for crap I'd never watch.

I'd only want Discovery and National Geographic channels - maybe British comedy but no movie channels, etc.

Oh, I went to the save our sport website and said that if you want sport, pay for it, don't put it on free to air TV.

We have austar i dont watch it much ( I'd much rather be outside) and i dont like to watch, music, cartoons or reality tv. There is no good sport on until next Footy season and V8 supercars are on free to air. The movie channels only show a couple of movies worth showing and the tv shows that you like that are shown a repeats. My parents watch stuff like Hogans Heroes, Eastenders, Coronation Street, Emerdale i only like the shows on there like Kingswood Country, Mother and Son and Hey Dad and when it was on Gomer Pyle. Otherwise if i had a say in it we would get Austar disconnected and put the money towards a Landy.

:p :p HEATHEN:twisted:

TV is sport!
It should be on everywhere, you should go into a shopping centre and marvel at the bigs screens replaying cricket matches. All radio stations should have to broadcast sport between the ads and substantial discounts on everything should be offered to those who can list all the Allen Border and Dally M medalists!

P.S I do not consider syncronised swimming to be a sport so it would be excused from being broadcast.

It happens with foxtel quite often. Some nights, irrespective of how many channels you have there is sweet FA (your words LOL:D ) on. All the "Special Interest" channels however are fantastic... loveee them

We don't get free to air. So if it's not on AUSTAR we don't see it.

This subject would make for an interesting poll:

Do you have Pay tv? Y/N.

Can someone set up a poll?

When I lived in the NT when I was a kid all we had was ABC and couldn't wait for holidays to Brissy to see 'the other channels'.
I have Fox now, just the poverty pak, and other than NG & Discovery guess which channel I watch the most...

I had Austar on a 2 year contract. It finished at the end of September, I cancelled part way through October. The person I talked to when I rang to cancel said it would stay connected until the end of the month. Nearly right, they ripped me off by 2 days. Then I had more phone calls from them asking why I was cancelling and if I wanted any of their special offers. I personally would never deal with them again. Put them into the same category as lawyers and real estate agents:twisted: .

We have Austar:twisted: bloody useless bunch of non caring twirps, we got it for motorcycle racing, but is few and far between now, all the discovery, how to, adventure 1 animal planet, ovation, history, Nat geo are pretty good though there are a few more, one thing though with Austar is when recording it won't change channels so you can't record more than one show, which is a pain if the superbikes are on Fox sport 1 and the motoGP is on Fox sport 2:twisted:

Yes it is. We've had it for 6 years and it's been getting worse ever since. We primarly got it for the AFL channel (the now defunct Fox Footy) as being ex-Victorians we love out footy

But now we don't have it, seems all pointless. Rather spend my hard earned else where, like the Rangie     :D :D :D

We've got the austar poverty pack....

I use it mainly for CMT as background music while Im mechanicin/geeking late into the night, the brain channels when Im having a rest/just got home from work/having dinner.

and just occasionally I make a foray over to fox 8 for futurama.

As a bonus we now get super clear SBS and ABC so I also get my dr who and top gear fixes minus the snow..

We get them perfectly clearly, too. Cost $90 for a digital set top box. :D
