I was reading the post on Ipod FM transmitters and noticed how spotless/empty Solmanics cubbybox was:eek: :p

So I was thinking what does everyone have in their cubbybox/glovebox (for those Disco/Rangie/Freelander types:cool: :D )?

worst thing is when you need to get something out that you know has fallen to the bottom..... which is usually just before we drive over a heap of corrigations or roughr roads.... when were trying to put things in if youthink along the lines of an epileptic playing tetris and your on the right track.

Hope your not getting a complex, remember, size isn't everything, it's how you put things in it that counts ;)

The D3 has a Fridge in the Cubby box. The fridge or "Coolbox" works well.
Sometimes has four bottles of water, sometimes some cans of Coke, on a "GOOD" weekend away, it will hold six cans of Mids :D .

Even if I put hot cans in, within an hour, they're cold enough to drink. Ahh, one of the gadgets on the D3 that actually works and fully appreciated on a hot day up the beach

Yeah i had to laugh at that. Mine is so full of crap. Here are a few items in there, phone charger , ipod, racq card and stuff, winch controler, winch gloves, rego paper work, beer bottle opener, binoculars, leatherman wave, BO spay, set of wheel bearings, srew driver and 13m = 10mm spanner (for the soft top bars), torch, suntan lotion, anti bug spray (bushman), plus loads of CD's .

But mine is a lockable metal cubby box for exmoor trim so as the truck is a sfot top . This is the most secure place in the truck. So all the c rap ends up living in here

Well I did take the box of tissues and biros out for the photo - but yes, I try to keep it clean. Besides, I do have a toolbox in the back.

solmanic

I just went back and had another look at the "Cockpit mods" thread and now I feel a little self-conscious. Maybe I should tip the contents of my toolbox into the cubby and it will seem a little more normal. But then, I don't really want some spanners and a hammer in there with the iPod.

So let's see some real grubby-cubby photos...

Another cubby box, which is always removed and is my 'box', with only MY stuff in it. Works for me and the LR is empty when I'm not in it.

But I just have a thing about @#$@^!*!&^@^#** people who break into cars looking for minor stuff.

When I work out how to fire death rays around the interior when it's parked, they will be installed... sorry, I'm hijacking.

If I listed what was in my Defenders cubby, wedged beside it, in the front bin, in the front shelf and under the drivers seat I'd end up with RSI and take up three pages of the forum. :p

Remember though Pedro Defender owners only have 1 cubby whilst the D2 has 1 over the tranmission tunnel two pods in the boot for storage, a GLOVEBOX, front door mounted shelves, 1 storage box under the drivers seat, then theres the roof mounted map holder webbing over the back seat storage pockets on the back of the front seats, we also have the ability to store small stuff under the front seats and the map storage areas over the windscreen

I think I have missed a few.......

Still think the one cubby box is a good deal?
