Man Do I love my break time.... but Im still gunna be one busy little bee...

IVe got to have some surgery and recover.

Drop some tyres to someone in melbourne (thats you Lucas)
Swap a gearbox over (that'd be you slunnie)
Grab my newish spare wheel carrier (still need the bank details Bluetongue)
and Drop some cabling over to Perth (still need the lengths P38arover)
Ive got to showpony my son to all the relatives so thats going to mean a trip to charleville, albany, rockingham, pemberton, and who knows where else.

So so far here is my plan.....

ignoring the surgery and the recovery...

on the 15th of december I'll be tootling down to melbourne to drop of some tyres to Lucas who has kindly offered garaging services for big red and a ride to the airport. Kudos, thats one problem delt with and some $$$ back into my pocket for Xmas.

While Im over in perth I'll deal with relos and dropping off the jumper cable to P38aRover and Im sure beers will be tested and warries swapped.

about the seventh of January will see me winging my way back to melbourne to scoot back to wodonga to hook up the trailer, get a nights rest and then hoik it up to sydney on the 8th where I will drop off the transmission after picking up the spare wheel carrier. which gives me about a week to fit it up in charleville.

If that doesnt pan out then I can put the sydney stop on the other side of the charleville stop and do the box and carrier on or about the 18th or 19th of january.

then its back to work on the 22nd of Jan....

If anyone is in the areas Im likely to be in when Im likely to be stopped (overnighting or doing some work) feel free to drop a line and catch up on some brewskis over a feed....

Or if your on the route from one place to another and dont mind us dropping by for a driver reviver that would be appreciated too.

While your here in Perth maybe west-AULROians can put together a little day/ 1/2 day trip for you to have a look at some WA tracks if you have time in your schedule?

Any volunteers ?

North of the river, In carine, bout a 20 min walk from the warick train station and directly over the road to the Carine Senior High schools Letter box...

ANd I need to make a correction to the plan... I'll have to drop the cable off to P38arover in Sydney... (sleep deprevation is gettin to me again)

Well I'll be up for a bit of a run, you are welcome to ride shotgun.
Unless of course you get an offer in a more civilized vehicle, my 81 RR is a bit rough.

Hmmm wonder if there is someone with a new RR or D3 can offer you a ride.:D

If not you are more than welcome to rough it with me.
You’ll have to keep us posted with more specific dates when you get them so we can pencil in our calendars. Unless you have dates now?

Of course IF i could keep track of my messages Id have realised.... Its Dirtydawg in WA whose getting the cable not P38a Rover....

sorry for the confusion....

which means p38arover is about to get a PM that will make no sense to him whatsoever....

If he turns up when Im gettin my beer, ummm gear, I'll have to buy him a couple..

How cool is this.....

I finished my course early.... I only have the final realtime gumpfh (ATS) to do.. 4 weeks worth. but due to my upcoming surgery im not allowed to go till next year :(

I had a sort of bet going with the boss. no new leave applications were to be approved as of 1 nov... With 9 weeks of course study left to go (not includince ATS) If I could finish my course before the end of november Hed authorise a parental leave app for me. Bet on...

28 Nov with 2 days off I was finished and with quite a comfortable pass mark . boss signed off on the proviso I turn up for the parade this morning.

My holiday started 8 hours ago.

I dont go back to work for oh 9 WEEKS

on that note, If anyone has anything going to melbourne VIA albury wodonga that will fit in the back of a deefer let me know I'll have room.

And Ditto for wodonga to Sydney on the dates Ive given earlier but I will have the tandem on with about 3m cubed available.

Hi

Looks like there will be a trip on 2nd Jan, sure you can't make it on that day??
It won't be too far from you either, just north of whiteman park.

Blknight.aus
2nd December 2006, 06:33 AM
I'll take a PDA full of names and numbers to perth, My limiting factor is going to be transport for Alex, he'll only be 7 months old and the vehicles we travel in will need car seat restraints

Those of you who wouldnt mind hosting us for revalation beers and BBQ's if you can pm me I'll see what the gonkumalator can work out time and space wise to fit in with you.

but Im up for anything i can wangle

Blknight.aus
11th December 2006, 08:44 PM
well part of its changed.... thanks to the mighty green machine and our quest for more free tax payers money....

so far heading over to perth is much the same with the addition of a brief stop on the way down to melb to visit turtle and his newly repaired disco.

once in perth Im going to try to make it to the do at the yacht club down in rockingham and then need to organise dropping the cables to dawg.

the real changes occour once back. From Melbourne, after landing (6th)its time to go hell for leather back to wodonga, (hopefully I'll be right for wheel time by then)

then at oh dark early on the 7th head for sydney to be in for lunchish to start the running around dropping stuff off, guys, you know who you are and pms will be sent shortly.

then up to newcastle for a little bit of play time then onto charleville.

from there at oh dark hundred on the 13th we will head out of charleville and back to Wodonga.

Thanks mate but dobbos already playing lynch pin for this idea (if it turns to poop im going to lynchhim then pin him to the wall by his joy department :) (always wanted to use that line)
The basic outline is to go for a quick trip along stocktons with my trailer on just so I can see how it goes on the sandy stuff as its the trailer I will be converting to a camper later on in its life. And Id rather do it while I have plenty of people around to help when I make a Nuff Nuff of myself.

itineraray edited (again)

to reflect the change of timings to hit dobbos place instead of newcastle general and further conflabation with him will see another post by me to square out APX timings for departure to stocktons.

AS its been freaking yonks since I last visited stockos Im letting Dobbo run with this one and counting my blessings that at this time of year theres people out there who are willing to take on these sort of short notice trips so I can get a meet and great in on what might have otherwise been a stress fest of a trip.

(funny how most of those sort of people drive a landrover of one sort or another)

The final run is pretty much as above however instead of a dedicated stop for aces and discodaves stuff Slunnie has graciously approved dumping their stuff at his place...

This is a big bonus for me as it allows me to dump all the stuff I need to dump at one place and do the last pickup without further parking manouvers.

which in theory providing nothing else changes means I'll be hitting dobbos a good half hour to an hour earlier...

Hope you all have had a good xmas and are planning a better new year.

The part of the trip to charleville has been cancelled due to the people we were ment to be going and seeing having some unexpected changes in their plans and as a result wont be in charleville.

So now I get some more playtime on the trip so monday will be a flexday to recover...

this shouldnt change the overall plan by much but SWMBO now wants to hit the markets in sydney and Im not against that now that Im not pressed for time so I may be running a little late to dobbos.
