Well, I've taken the plunge, my citizenship ceremony takes place next Tuesday, Ill be an Ozzie!

Only taken me 57 years...............

Considering I only applied a couple of months ago and my interview was 10 days ago the wheels have turned fairly quickly.

My mum was one of those kids shipped over during the war,, sort of adopted and stayed.
Mr Whitlam sent her a letter telling her they were going to deport her!!!
A few years ago she tried to do the "Ozzie" thing and was told "what for? you already ARE a citizen"

Good on ya Richard!!!

will they let you across the border now?;):p:D

One doesn't want to rush into any rash decisions, does one.

It's your shout, mate!

You know that's part of the Aussie tradition....

Congratulations, RichardK, well done.

Got "Done"today Andrew, Didn't hurt either, there wasn't much involved, just had an interview sent in some papers to prove I had in fact been here for a number of years and they got me into the earliest ceremony they could.
I suggest you look into it promptly with the new requirements that may come in soon.

I thought they'd want to keep you all as british citizens due to the water crisis
Australian citizens have to shower on a daily basis so the extra water usage might just push water consumtion over the limit and cause a massive drought of biblical proportions
