Hi Brad
Great to see its all coming together for you.
Was really looking forward to getting up there but its not looking good.
BlackBetty got her headjob, the hotwater system blew up and spent just as much, the RedBulls are on very soon.Got to start choosing where if I can get a spare $$$ spent.
When you are speaking to Robert and Martine, make sure you impress upon them if they are travelling the Albany Hwy they arent passing thru Williams without staying the nite.I have a huge vegi garden and accsess to dams with things that crawl in dams:cool:
They are expected to camp a nite or 2 or 3 or 4 if they wish

Hi Brad
I'd love to come and abuse you, but I'm going on Sat. Robert and Martine visited me on Tuesday night, and it was great to catch up with them again, very interesting couple. Hope to see them on Saturday.
Cheers Stuart

Now now those people wanting to abuse poor Brad, he can't help the way he is and you should show some sympathy instead.

I'll be there sometime Brad and look forward to meeting some of those forumites I only know by their messages.
Hope you can make it as well Andy.

Well I am once again back from the 4WD show and did not cop any abuse:D

But I did get to Drive the Left hand drive defender of Robert and Martine on the test track after the show had finished...I can tell you with all their gear it felt very heavy. It is a 2004 td5 and they have been on the road for 18 months now and clocked up 48k
They were recently bogged on the beach at ningaloo (exmouth)for 16hrs
The vehicle at the show was a real drawcrowd and We may get some new members to our next meeting Monday nite.
Martine and Robert were at the show everyday talking to interested people about it.
There was someone who scratched their map, on the side of their vehicle (lowlife) with a key or coin, that was the only damper on the whole weekend.
I would like to publically thank them for their time and effort this weekend as it was out of the kindness that they cut short a trip to be back with us for the show.
I hope that any of you from here took the chance to say hello.

They will soon be heading east and if you can catch up with them for a chat you will be pleasantly suprised by them.
Kind regards

I dropped in on Saturday and met Martine and renewed acquaintence with Robert. They were certainly doing a good job and meeting them would have been a highlight for some people I am sure.

Martine said not to let Robert know the date of the next Harvey trip!!!!!

Hello Mark Yes I believe they will be, or want to be in tassie in January.
They are going to be in aus for app 1 year.
I will ask them tomorrow as they are coming to our club meeting for a little talk and picture show....when I know where and when I will post here for you and I will alsolet them know that you have asked and for them to contact you when they are close.

Emma and myself also met Robert & Martine at the show on saturday. That's how we ended up finding out about this site. Shame we never knew of it before, as we would also brought our landy along to the show, having just completed a similar trip. It was great to swap stories with them and we intend to come to the meeting tomorrow eve to talk further.

All in all a good show.
Well done all those involved.

Shirley and I spoke with them on Saturday what nice people they are.

Not a lot of room in the Defender with all the gear they have but what a trip they are on.

I was intrigued by the flaps on top of the front wheel arches and discovered they were as Robert put it " how you say picnic tables" an addition I wouldn't have thought of but one I can see the benefit of.

We are hoping to get along to his presenation tonight.

Hi all.
I'll be there tonight as well. I had a chat with Robert and he was interested in the problem Id had with TP - Throttle Potentiometer as he'd never heard of this happening before.
Look forward to meeting some of the others who at the moment are just names on this site.

Anyone got pics of the picnic table mods? Or better still some good pics of all the mods on the vehicle? :D
