Hi all,
I am building up a defender at the moment and I am in need of some Firewall outriggers and a rear crossmember, does anyone know if i can buy theys premade from somewhere or will i have to get them made up? If they are to expensive i will probobly just my brother to make something up but if they are easy enough to find and cheap enough i will just buy them to save time.

Thanks,

Mick.

Hi Mick

I replaced my rear cross member a year or so ago and bought an off the shelf item, was quite expensive, I thought, around $500 and was quite difficult to find one in stock. I got mine from 4wds in blackburn, victoria. Could you find a wreck and cut off the parts you need might be cheaper than buying replacement bits.

Ouch!

I have some series bits but they are pretty badly rusted, i might just use them as templates to make new ones... 500 bucks for cross member sounds VERY steep.
