Hi all,,

Heading over to Moreton at the end of the month and have a waeico. I have not yey rigged the deep cycle set up yet. but i dont want the fridge near the car anyway, but the question i ask. is it ok to leave the ignition on while im on the barge and at camp to play the radio. when i had a suzzy petrol i was told not to do this as it would burn out the points is it ok to leave the ignition on in my 02 defender

you could leave it on accessories.....but i wouldnt be leaving the ignition on......
it will flatten your battery.....as it powers up all the circuitry associated with running the engine.....
such as the ecu...fuel pump...all the sensors....fans.....etc....

ps....if you want to rig the second battery up before you go....it doesnt take too long to do....

and drivesafe has what you need to do it.....ask him about the SC-40.....

I don't inderstand why you need to have the ignition on - what about the accessory position?

Ignition on will definitely flatten the battery
