As I burnt my CDMA handset  :( I locked myself into a G network phone. I fitted a hands free kit for the new phone but are using the the same high gain external antenna. When I plug the phone into the cradle the signal strength seems to drop a little.
When I plugged the CDMA into its cradle before its demise there was a marked increase in signal strength with the same external antenna.

Do I have an antenna compadability issue here.

Thanks in advance

Graham

Hi, I do beleive you have a miss match on the antenna, You may need to look into the Hz range of your existing antenna and then look into the range on your new 3G phone, I do recall the Gsim has 3 bands ranges 900Hz, 1800Hz and the last one I can't remember at this point, But I will look into it and get back to you.
Cheers

Next G runs off exactly the same frequency as CDMA/AMPS (~850Mhz). They use exactly the same antennas from the base stations as the CDMA gear.

Next G is completely different to GSM (900, 1800Mhz).

I would say that something has gone wrong with your installation, there is a dB loss somewhere.;)
