G'Day All,
Is there a CAD guru out there that can help us with a little prob....well my wife has the problem https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ .......We are looking at option's to reclad our "Hoilday Shack" and Ive made up my mind what I want to do, but Im having trouble talking the wife around.

I want to clad it with colourbond (corrigated iron), but as Marie is a blonde she has no imagination (spelling ?) what it will look like when finished.

Sooo is it possible to take a digital pic of the house then load to a cad program and them ad differant colours and the corrigations of colourbond etc........I think this would be the cheapest way out and be a bit differant.

Ive seen a few houses done this way and they look real smicko https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Any help please ? Marie "like's" the idea of alloy or plastic cladding but I sure as hell dont https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ so any help sway the misses around would be good, thanks blokes https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

You might want to check if there are any covanents on your title, it's common for colourbond to be specifically forbidden to clad the outer walls. May not be either, but worth a check ;)

I know a bit about cad and i think that what you want to do could be done a lot easier in a program like photoshop. I haven't used photoshop much but i can tell you that it wouldn't be so easy in the cad programs i use.

I think in photoshop (Adobe) you can select everything of a certain colour and change it to a different colour. This, I imagine is what you want to do.

Andrew see my reply on the other forum. Photoshop can do all you ask for.

Hey Andrew,

For what you need you don't need CAD - a little magic in photoshop could do the trick... CAD or a 3D will require modeling of your 'holiday mansion' from scratch. Not realy worth it.

Take a pic(s), send it to me (some dimensions will help too to get the scale of colourbond right) and I can see what magic I can do... if I can get my boss to look 10 years younger ... ... well...

My in-laws did their house in one of those plstic things - not bad looking but there is nothing as good as corro ;) :p

Dave I found the cd/dvd you are talking about....the one with which you can change colour etc....they want about $110+ for it.

Not worth it really as I just want an idea what the shack will look like with iron on her....but good thinking but, worth a look :)
