So today saw me in the garage, I was ment to be fixing a chainsaw..but you know how it is in the garage, early on a sunday morning, the good looking girls are walking the dogs Im doing the smile and wave thing not really in the mood for the chainsaw it was being finniky so while on the perv I was bored and thirsty.
Bored and thinking about the upcoming camping trip, the last one I did, and the hot water routine for getting washing up water and showering water... hmmm thirsty... so off I toddle to the kitchen to grab a cordial.
stubbed my toe on one of edddo's rotors, Ok so I was in the japanese safety boots, my fault, then i thought heater.... what else have I got laying around...
heres what I scrounged up...
1048
Edddos rotors, some 13mm copper tube, some steel bar, a SWB brake drum and a broken chip fryer skimmer.
The blue water drum was the result of a trip to the markets. The intent is to mod it for the storage tank.
heres what I made
1050
1051
I should have checked the drum before I bought it. It didnt have the hole drilled out for a tap, no harm no foul, I used my water jerry instead.
1052
one chunk of wood about 20 cms across and about 20 cms long was split up into kindling and firewood..
the first bit burnt a bit funny and lasted about 15 minutes but left me with a good bed of coals around the drum,
the second lot burnt very well with little smoke and began to raise the temp of the water in the jerry
the third lot burnt just as well, made a really nice jaffle and blew off the hose on the pipe.. The heat had caused the garden hose I was using to collapse where it was bent over the lip of the jerry and the water boiled in the pipe softening the hose enough for it to slip off.
no loss it works... and should be better once I get the feeds for the drum sorted.
I wonder what tomorrow holds.
