Hi All,
I didnt know which way to go re my other threads so Im going to clog up cyberspace a bit more:p
I now have a Garmin etrex yellow gps and a uniden gns 8350 satnav.
Im wondering if anybody knows if I could use a reradiating antenna for both, maybe not at the same time, but I dont see the point in buying two antenna's if I can get one to do both units........
Having said that I know from my other thread , the Etrex can use one but I have no idea about the satnav. Thought I had better ask here rather contact Uniden and sound/look like a real dick....ooops to late:rolleyes:
Any ideas please?

My reradiating antenna can have the actual antenna lead unplugged from the reradiating part.
So I use the reradiating setup with my Etrex and if I'm using my PDA GPS then I just plug the antenna into the GPS itself.

I think they only re-radiate a very short distance so you need to have the actual GPS pretty close - you can only try it I guess.
Possible test method ;
1. select the display that shows the signal level from the satellites on both gps. ( this is normally a sort of bar graph. )
2. Roughly position both the GPS units and the re-radiating unit where you want them in the vehicle.
3. note the satellite signal levels on the gps display with the re-radiating unit OFF.
6. turn the re-radiating unit ON. ( ie power it up )
5. if the signal levels increase appreciably, ( and it should be very noticable ) the gps is picking up the re-radiated signal.
7. If the signal level does not increase the gps is not getting the reradiating signal - you will need to move the gps closer.

Does the Uniden have its own GPS or does it bluetooth the signal across from another GPS?
Whatever, a re-radiating antenna will work within about a metre, but the closer the better. I taped mine to the back of my old Merdian.
If your Garmin & Uniden are close together, I can't see why one re-radiator wouldn't work.

Thanks for info
The Uniden unit does indeed have its own gps, but not enough to be of any use as a real gps.....if that makes sence:angel:
