View Full Version : Parts Manual Needed

Morning to everone.
I've started the long road of repair to my D90 hybrid, and things arn't going that smoothly. The panel beaters seem to think that it's going the cost 6-7K just in labour for the repairs, then I've got to add parts and paint! OUCH I really needed insurance.
Anyhow I've decided that I'm just going to get them to repair the firewall and I'm going to fix the rear tub myself.
In doing this I'm finding it rather hard without a parts book, dose anyone out there have a parts manual that would cover the 96 D90? in particular the rear tub.
Any help would be appreciated. TIA and a safe holidays to all.
Cheers

hey Larns
Have you asked Land Rover for a price on a Firewall? You may be surprised!!!
You could even look at bringing one of the new ones in from the UK - last time I saw them in LROI Mag was about GBP 350 inc VAT, so recon it would be not much over $1,000 for the new gal firewall.

Did consider that but then i'd have to pull out all the sound proofing, wiring, custom dash, wiper motor, heater....ect ect, you see where I'm going with this. At the end of the day 750 isnt that much to have the firewall repaired and alot less trouble on my behalf. Thanks for responding though.
Just for peoples knowlage, I priced a firewall when I started my project two years ago and it was gonna cost me 1.5K, which I spose isn't too bad considering.
I have considered just importing another tub but shipping is the killer, hense why I'm looking at just replacing panels.
Cheers guys

No. Length is different. Problem with a ninety is there have been so few imported into Australia!
Just to be different - how about converting it to a traytop? The rear tub from a S3 traytop WOULD fit, as would the rear cab and rear tub from a 110 traytop - should be able to find some of these.

how badly damaged is the tub? can you still use the rear bulkhead and just buy 2 new rear guards?
Some of the UK parts suppliers sell these separately - freight would still be expensive but WAAAAY cheaper than a complete tub

now these are what I mean:

Paddocks sell them for about GBP65 BUT they are made by SPI - and I know some of the AU LR suppliers are now selling SPI replacement panels, some even on ebay.
Worth a try

Yea that's what I'm looking at doing LRH. I reckon I'd get away with only replacing the LH side as the RH isn't too bad. It'd just mean alot of drillin out spot welds and re-spot welding the panels back on (time consuming).
Where did you get that pic from mate? An do SPI have a website? I did try Paddocks but a search of their site didn't reveal anything.
I did get I price from John Craddock for 75 GBP ea.

I have sent an email to SPI in the hope they have an AU distributor / seller - fingers crossed, as I'd like some new Defnder panels for my D100.
