Fraser Island Trip 2007

If any of the ALRO readers want to catch up, my mates and I will be doing our annual Fraser Island pilgrimage starting 3rd March 2007 for a week. You can find us at 'Gillys Getaway', Poyungan Rocks (take the turnoff from the beach about 1.2km North of Poyungan Rocks, the Poyungan Valley Road on Hema Maps, go up the hill and over, 1st house you come to). Drop in for an ale or wave me down. You wont miss DRUT the landie. :D

What is gilly's getaway like?

We saw it and took photos last time. how many does it hold?

great place, sleeps 10, I think its about $950 or $1000 a week now (sat to sat) which is a little below the main stream price. Gilly and Lyn are great hosts, more like visiting a mate than renting a house. they live in the house next door and rent out the original cottage that has been totally renovated. very very clean place with outdoor fish cleaning area, great bird life, endless hot showers. I'd recomend it to anyone.

some of the houses i've seen over there smell like an old fishing esky, not this place.:D

just a reminder in case any forum members want to drop in. I'm interested in also doing Sandy Cape and would like to tag along with a few others just in case of major trouble. Anybody interested??
