Talk about feeling really silly. My wife had organised an overnight camping trip to celebrate a duel birthday of two of her friends.
The setting was Greens Lake, only about 40 mins from home. The lake level was very low - but nice enough.
I thought I would go for a drive around it on the sandy banks. All going well until I come up against this very small (and by small I mean less that 6 inches wide) water crossing. I thought that should be easy enough without thinking that the sand mud for a meter either side would be a bit boggy.
The front went in - and just sank up to and past the axles............I was well and truly bogged........................and the
Embarrassment was...........................................
Being pulled out by a Nissan Navara thing, oh the shame
And he took pictures of his 'sucessess':(

Look at it this way
Landys arent invincible niether are you!
So when you get bogged you know what to do!
Call your mate with his Landy!
And it will all turn out Dandy!
Cause if you hang around and wait for a Nissan
When you explain you dont need a camera They sure wont listen!
Sorry about the rhyming i didnt mean it...............Honest:angel:

Okay to add insult to injury, but the pic's are not action pics. Just one of where the ilustrious bogging took place and some pics of the car wheels after the extraction.
The funny looking bird standing near the car is the misses, the one sitting in the ford isn't

looks like you just nosed it in and reversed it out to me...
shoulda hit it at full noise and just bounced it over... mind you I nearly got myself caught out in the same situation, crossed a little bit of mud with big red, forgetting i had the trailer on with the dogs in, big red made it by virtue of the trailers weight pushing her though but since Id neglected to engage the center difflock the trailer sunk in when i ran out of steam.... seemed like 10 minutes worth of first reverse to get out.
wonder what would have happened to the disco if youd tried it?

Had a similar experience last weekend, Driving in the mud at medowie with just my friend in his maverick, i thought i would tempt fate and drive through a rather large mud hole at crawl speed and see how far i would get before getting hang up on the ruts, all went as i expected, but... i wasnt able to reverse out as easily as i had thought,
oh well i thought time to be snatched out, problem was in was in a long way which meant brads mav with the massive diffs would have no chance of drive in the ruts, so he straddled the high parts and drove down within snatch range.
Got all hooked up with Brads sister filming it all (i feel your pain) but first pull the maverick slipped of the rut tops and got hung up on a rut the i barely even touch as i drove over it.... so there we were both hung up on our diffs, and to make it more interesting we had a loaded up snatch strap between our cars we could remove due to the load.
After digging around the mavs diffs and findingwe had to remove a **** load of dirt (the disco was way to deep in the mud to dig out) we were about to give up and call for help just as we heard an engine reving in the distance, over the hill came 3 toyotas of various models to find us in the mud. Must have been an exciting site for a toyota driver seeing a LR and a Maverick(basically a GQ patrol) stuck pretty badly.
Anyway luckily for us they were willing to offer help and i think it was a 4 runner with 35s and heaps of lift hooked up a snatch to the patrol and managed to pull us both free after a couple of good hits.
I was thankful we made it out and home before it got to late, but the embarassment x2 was hard to take !!
