Ok, so here is Stevo's attempt at getting Numpties Mrs poll going. Now, I'm limited to 10 choices by the design of the site. I know 3/5 of 5/8 of stuff all about landrovers etc. So I'm going to limit it to vehicle types. e.g. Disco, defender, series, range rover, perenti etc. If I've missed stuff forgive my ignorance and please let me know.

Sorry folks, I tried to edit the Freelander choice (i couldn't remember what it was called) but I can't fix it. Perhaps a mod can help me out. Also if someone can put up a reasonable list of the vehicles that fit between series and defender I'll get those added too.

:D He must be an old bloke and all the modern SUV's look similar to him I bet he can't tell the difference between a RAV and a Xtrail unless he's standing beside it.:wasntme:

you sure about that now harry... i am always up to voicing my opinion on that one and the way i see it, without low-range could never be a true landy  :p

Don't need low if you've got the auto... ;)

Freelander, excellent bit of kit.

Me, I get to drive all of them through work. :D You can look at my sig to see what I actually own....

The new Freelanders even have a version of Terrain Reponse.

If it's got Land Rover or Range Rover on the compliance plate or bonnet, then it's a real one in my book.

Now, what about Land Rover push bikes?

I've got 2 Rangies.
Can I vote twice?

So have I now. Just need to get the 'second' one on club rego and I'll be set :D

Although as much as I hate to admit it, Discos are getting awfully cheap and now are better value for money. Half-decent air con and a 3.9 V8 are great reasons to look for one. I've seen some good examples on e-bay and carsales, etc.. for $5-6K

CAST OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm buggered if I can work out what a Defender is a cast off of. Just a purpose built damn fine piece of pommy engineering lunacy :wasntme:

As a Discovery owner, IMHO, I have to say that the series Land Rovers, through to the Defenders, is the look that defines the Land Rover image, and is a look that should never be lost. They just look as though they belong on a dirt track somewhere, trolling through the snow or over a mountain.....

Those Discos are just too damned good. Rest of you should just go home :D :p :wasntme:

does this poll take into account muliple vehicles?
Some of the series owners have...um..many.
(yes, yes I know 1 for the road 14 for the spares..)

I'm afraid to say that when I look at a defender I think it is genuinely the most beautiful 4WD on the market to look at. Totally by accident LR have created a timeless masterpiece. :D :D

Best comment I have heard was while rescuing the vehicles at stockton. Wife of the Prado owner said after I pulled up
"Now thats a 4WD!"

Its a mutiple poll. If your silly enuff to owne one of everything, then get voting.

So far, the percentages seem pretty much in line with what I see "on the road" i.e. Discos most common. :p
Although, I didn't think I see as many Defenders as Rangies. :o
C'mon, if you have a Rangie, place your vote. :D

Stepho_62
3rd January 2007, 08:00 PM
I didn't realise that you could multiple vote when I voted, so I voted for Defender and then when Numpty voted he voted for Defender AND Series...but you can only vote for each once, so if you had, say, 4 series LR's, you can only vote for one of them....we have 3 series LR's, only two driveable, but a single voter with more than one can only vote for one.
 Ah ok Mrs, ( I hate calling u numpty) Gandalf. Your right. YOu can vote mutiple times for each different type but NOT mutple times for the one type.

Sorry bout that, limitations of the very short sighted code cutter who wrote the PHP that supports this wonderful site. :wasntme::D

I'm buggered if I know why I pay some of them $1200 a day. They just shouldn't be allowed to boil water in fear that they may burn it.

Brian Hjelm and 1103.9TD are backed by me.

A 110 and 110 Isuzu would have been important inclusions to gain a true birdseye of what is about in the AULRO camp.

I am not voting my 110 Isuzu as a Defender. She is much too proud.

I voted miscellaneous since non - Defender 110s are not listed, and I drive the 110 more than the series, then when it showed the results, found I could have had multiple votes - but it would not let me change my vote.

If it bears the real shape of a land rover its get my vote, So I'll unload my 1957 S1 and my 130 defender (Sally Anne), into the count.
