Well today, as you can see in Sydney (ie its raining..), I washed my D110 using our water tanks.. and I even took off my spare wheel / number plate etc ... totally went all out cleaning 160,000kms of NSW / SA / WA dirt and crap (oh and the bugs) ...

Well I was bored .. the GF was washing her car as well, so I descided to remove all the red dirt stains off the white body, scrub all the bugs off etc.. and when it was all done and finished... I was disappointed it still did not look all that pretty..!!

So, and I know I shouldnt have done it.... but I got my polish out, and went to it with gusto..

And low and behold, my defender is white, not this crappy milky colour!

I scrubbed, rubbed and removed every stain, every bug and every little mark off it ... and its now back to showroom condition!

Anyway .. just wanted to give you all faith that under that mud, there is some original paint worth cleaning now and then!

PS - Back to the mud next weekend!!!

Yeah sorry it was too clean to take a photo .. my camera would have got flashback and the universe would have folded itself in on itself and we would be all dead.... true fact!

But she will be back in the mud next weekend, and out playin in the sand tomorrow, so the polish is just a giggle at the moment...

Will get some more interested photos from those trips!

Had my defender close on 8 years and was thinking the other day - maybe should polish it.

Maybe I will one day.
